Man who bought the 100 millionth song won PowerBook, 40GB iPod, certificate for 10,000 iTunes songs.
July 12, 2004: 10:48 AM EDT

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Apple Computer Inc. said Monday that more than 100 million songs have been purchased and downloaded from the computer maker's iTunes Music Store, and that the man who bought the 100 millionth song won a PowerBook.

The 100 millionth song, "Somersault (Dangermouse remix)" by Zero7 was purchased by Kevin Britten, 20, of Hays, Kansas on Sunday, July 11, according to a company press release.

For his buy, Britten will receive a 17-inch PowerBook, a 40GB iPod, a gift certificate for 10,000 iTunes songs to create the ultimate music library for his iPod and the opportunity to create his own Celebrity Playlist to be published on the iTunes Music Store, according to the statement.

"As we cross this historic milestone, we want to thank our customers, the artists and the music labels who have embraced our dream for iTunes," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, in the press release.

They don't sell shit at the stores in Adelaide Australia where I am from. Unless you want to order shit in and pay a truckload for it because it is an import you just can't get it...
I get all of my shit online and will be continuing to do so for some time.

You're right this is how it goes overseas, if a CD gets distributed out here then it's all good I can get it at any store. If not I have to buy an import CD which might not be in all the stores, plus they rip you a new asshole with a CD price 2x or 3x higher.
When I buy some cds online I make sure to order 2 or 3, so that I get more cds for the same shipping charges. I be gettin 90% of my CDs on the net.

Ive ordered cds on internet for three years, copped so many classics for playa price (ex Skip dog for 3.99 bucks). Record shops ain't a good deal to me, I usually got through IT 10 cds for 50 bucks with no shipping fees to pay.

basically the artists can see more of their money by sellin products online, and it helps your project get out to more people.

but rapbay.com is legit, they can be trusted.

Security is a fucking joke. Speaking as someone who used to work in IT, if you're using Internet Explorer to order your shit, you're really exposing yourself by putting your CC# up to order shit online.

Anyway, if something is REALLY worth buying that isn't in stores around me (Frontline, old Esham, vintage No Limit) I'll buy it with a CC that I haven't used up my "Courtesy credit," so if someone runs up my shit on XXX Asian Child Porn sites, I'll be able to get my money back.
