We’ve all heard the phrase, it’s all about who you know, but what if you live in a region where the people you need to know are thousands of miles away? Well FootWork Media has decided to bring some industry insiders to Tacoma, WA. The “Get Connected” Industry Mixer and Hip Hop Showcase will be held December 9th at Surreal Ultra Lounge (located at 726 Pacific Ave). You’ll have the unique opportunity to rub shoulders with Julia Beverly, founder and Editor & Chief of Ozone Magazine. Paul Porter, Industry Consultant, former Program Director for BET, and creator of Raprehab.com. Big Heavy (Manager for Slim Thug and Baby Bash), RJ (Road Manager for E40), Rico Allen (Manager for Devin the Dude and Scarface) and celebrity guest Devin the Dude will also be in the building. The evening will feature live performances from Island Trybe, Dice, Swindle (of Certified), Prano Da Truth, and Boss Clicc. Ms. Beverly will host the showcase as well as do a two page spread on the performers on Ozonemag.com. Not only will we be bringing the industry to the Northwest, we will be bringing Northwest Hip Hop to the industry. Doors open at 9pm and the showcase will start promptly at 10:30pm. Presale tickets go on sale Friday, November 11th on brownpapertickets.com and priced as follows: $10 for general admission. $20 for VIP, includes front of the line access, free coat check, drink specials, and access to VIP lounge. $40 for Platinum VIP, includes all of the regular VIP perks as well as access to the “Connection Room” where you will have the ability to network with all the people mentioned above and enjoy complimentary appetizers and champagne (while supplies last).
