I don't know about comedy movie of the year, but I am definitly going to see it. Can't go wrong with Adam Sandler & Seth Rogen. And it's produced by Judd Apatow.

And I've yet to see The Hangover! Well since you put it like that, it very well could be the comedy of the year. I can't think of another comedy that could top it.
I think the movie could turn out to be very good but it wouldn't be in the same category as The Hangover in my opinion.
The Hangover is a straight up laugh your ass off comedy where as Funny People looks much more like a drama with some dark comedy as well. Then again I'm probably being more critcal then I should be.
While I did like The Hangover a lot I think Funny People could be a lot better then that was as a movie in general. Only time will tell which is the popular opinion on the two.
Its funny because they have two different trailers running, one where they highlight the drama portion of the movie, and the4 other highlighting the comedy portion, so i think they don't really know HOW to market this film.
This movie also has Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill in it...that's enough for me to see it off top.
theyll probably use the same formula they been using in the other movies (superbad, pineapple, 40 year old, knocked up, zack & miri).. some stupid/sarcastic jokes... the main characters will be in some kind of dispute.. and they make up in the end.
