I got both my covers for free and they streight, some people just like doing this.
Anyways they open cds im not paying for art thats being used to promote other people.
Someone on the cd should be doing it but none of them have the skillz or they frontin. I been practiceing but im still not good.
If this was my solo cd that I was going to spend money pressing, mastering, and trying to sell, I would pay for some top quality gfx.
But for a cd-r being passed around clubs in the dark its not that important.

that's where your wrong... IT IS IMPORTANT! Not taking the shit serious, thinking you can get by with some half assed shit doesn't work. If you're trying to contribute to Hip Hop, put some money into it and behind it. I've been in the game for a long time and if someone hands me a cdr in a case with either no artwork or some bullshit artwork, it's gettin left on a table somewhere. Don't mean to jump on you, but Spend a little.

I sold cd-rs in sleeves with no artwork! Music speaks for itself..

I use to tape the show from the night before and go to work the next day with 50-100 cds and sell them all before my set was done. Im not even going around the club trying to sell them, I just put them by my equipment and people come to me.

Then I started to make my own cds, These two cds are my 8&9 mixtapes and I been using basic graphics. I press 2500 at a time then I run orders of a 1000.After 6-8 weeks I do a new project.

If I was releasing a commercial cd to be put in stores I would consider your opinion, But since im dealing with people at a club with barely any lights that know me, Ill do it my way. The only stores I deal with are mom and pop joints and its the same thing if my name is on it, it will sell.

heres artwork I did myself, its not great but fuck it.

My boy did this but he passed away.

Thats what I use to do, Im trying to brand it now. I bought a light scribe just to put the name on the cd cuz I know poeple be losing covers. My boy did my last few for me but he was in a accident.

Main reason was im posting shit on the net now, Ill probaly sell 99% at my job still.

And since I see people posting lil wayne covers every day I thought they would be intrested in doing a cover for a real cd that people will actualy cop and get there name out there. I guess they rather be on some fantasy shit.
