I saw a Groupon (or was it Living Social) for that Stevens vs N'Dou fight in Santa Monica. They are probably having a hard time selling seats. About 20 miles from my house but on a Wednesday night so I'll pass. Good fight though.

Cant wait for canelo to take our dates back! Yeee
You see that interview too? Said he's fighting in May and September no matter what.

I think obviously Canelo vs Cotto is a Lock for cinco de mayo. I wonder if Floyd would fight a Danny Garcia or Khan on that date or not. I think Canelo vs Cotto would do some big ass numbers.

Exactly, some "dudes". It wasn't you. You don't know how it is. Do you even train?

Boot camp? PT? I'm talking about lifting bone crushing weights or slugging it out with someone who is trying to rip your head off for 36 minutes while on a calorie deficit. Not some PT fat camp. Without the 100 grams of sugar from cookies and juice. Try putting the glucose back into your system with a 4oz chicken breast and lettuce.

Also what does a professional athlete have to do with it? Do they defy the laws of anatomy or something? An RBC count is an RBC count, regardless of who you are.
PT fat camp? It's boot camp for the united states military. Have you done that? If you can't relate to that then you don't know what you're talking about. Pay attention to what I said, they donated a lot more than 4 vials of blood. Maybe you should have your blood checked for a blood disorder. If this was that common, there would be a way bigger concern the world over when it came to testing athletes. Everyone is different.

Yes, I am familiar with that and they basically use it to break people and get them in shape. Let's be fair, the majority of people who join the military aren't necessarily in top notch shape to begin with so it's not that hard to do.

My old Muay Thai coach was a former marine drill sergeant and we did their work outs as "warm ups". Given it was a more than needed 30 minute warm up. Then you have people come out the core and try to train to fight and they can't hang the full length. It's a completely different situation. I'm just saying you cannot compare a boot camp to defending your title against a hall of fame boxer.

Either way, if you think 4 vials is nothing then I applaud you. As for me, I rather not give up a drop of blood if I don't have to because personally I feel my stamina lack and I get light headed a lot quicker.

Like I said, it could very well be something specific to the person, and it could be mental too. I used to have issues with giving blood when I was borderline anemic and used to feel like that too. That's totally understandable. But a healthy dude shouldn't have that issue. I brought up the case of a professional athlete only to say that these dudes, of all people, should be taking care of their bodies. Obviously there are some who don't. But having 4 vials of blood taken out 2 days before a fight sounds like a silly excuse to me unless he had some other major health issue. The commissions are there for fighter safety (at least in theory) and would have changed this protocol in some form or another if 4 vials of blood were a major hindrance to the fighters.

Well, they usually never do. Even with the Olympic style testing that Floyd uses, and also VADA, so far none of them have taken blood that close to a fight (14 days has been the closest so far, although they have the right to take it anytime). Like I said before, they are more interested in testing you during training camp, because Thats when someone would be taking something (when they are getting into shape) not the cool down period.

Anyways, random Chavez picture I saw today and busted out laughing:

Espinza drops Friday night Showbox from Showtime.

I know these cards are basically showcase fights for up and comers but still, less boxing on TV. Loving the legacy of Espinoza so far... not!
Is this for real? A lot of solid and championship fighters kicked off on ShoBox. That is extrememly disappointing if this is official man. Cutting out the smaller shows cause you're paying too much for garbage "main" shows.

More #boxing destruction from #Showtime's Stephen #Espinoza has dropped the excellent Friday night #ShoBox series.
R.I.P. ShoBox 2001-2014

Espinoza denied it saying its "moved" to Saturday similar to Boxing After Dark on HBO, but I think that's a half truth.

Espinoza cut off Shobox on Friday nights cuz most of those fighters that GBP were trying to headline are the fighters that are not signed to Al Haymon. And if they were, they were fighting on FS1. Now fighters like Antonio Orozco, who are constantly get shifted away from Showtime to FS1, will now get the shine they deserve and fight on HBO, watch. Just like Gabe Rosado who is now with GBP and will fight on HBO.

Stiverne-Wilder Avoids Purse Bid, Agreement Reached

According to World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman, the ordered fight between WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and mandatory challenger Deontay Wilder will avoid a scheduled purse bid on October 1st - because Sulaiman was informed that Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions [for Wilder] and Don King [for Stiverne] have reached an agreement to stage the fight in December. The bout will take place on December 13th or December 20th on American soil
