like all of them, except the blue ball and the LOL snow ball. Those are ok for tracking kicks, but they are honestly shitty mics. The baby bottle is great, well worth the cash sounds damn near identical to the big bottle which is fuckin exquisite 5000 dollar mic. Funny thing is I've seen those things used as over heads more than anything else 10 gs worth of room mics ain't that a bitch

Honestly the best mic that i can think of for 500 bucks is a Rode NTK, its all a matter of personal opinion though

i used the blue bird, sounded beautiful, and its like 449 i think, the guy even had a shitty ass pre amp, so it would sound real nice with the good ones. like someone already stated, snowballs are a JOKE!!! the pop like crazy, and are just very cheap!

they are very expensive the sonys I mean. their are tube mics out there for much less than that and sound very good. All the Rode mics are worth like double their price in sound cuz they bought their components in mass quantities so they can sell them at a lower price. The NTK is a tube for 5 bills and it sounds fucking awsome. great vocal mic

Man get yourself a Rode NT1A. It only cost $199.00 and sounds as good as most mid to upper level mics. Just make sure you spend your money on a good preamp. I recorded the entire new Mac & A.K. album on a Rode NT1A and ran it through a Focusrite Voicemaster, and everybody who hears it swears I used a AKG C414, which is the mic I really want.
