Undefeated 2004 U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward weighed 167 pounds, while opponent Roger Cantrell tipped the scales at 166.5 pounds during Thursday’s weigh-in at the Bay Garden Beach Resort on Reduit Beach in Gros-Islet, St. Lucia.

Andre Ward, 13-0, (8):

“My condition is tip-top shape; we can’t get in any better shape than we are now. I’m just ready to go for tomorrow night. All I’ll predict is a win. KO, distance, it doesn’t matter how you get it. We worked hard to get a win and that’s what we’ve come to get. We’re definitely going to get it.”

Roger Cantrell, 12-0, (8):

“I feel great. I’m looking for a victory. I’m in the best shape of my life. I trained 58 days in Las Vegas at the Top Rank Gym and I’m two pounds under weight and feel good, the best I’ve ever felt in my life. You know Ward’s a great boxer and I’m expecting the best out of him. He is going to get the best out of me. I predict a mid-round knockout.”

yeah he got a TKO (ref stopped it). that cat he faught was a joke.

ill give all props to Ward for the win but I see two big problems with his game. His lack of defense when he decided to back off, also when he starts his attack he doesnt know how to close the gap without either jumpin in wrecklessly or just startin off with a less than accurate punch. Im overly critical of this cat cuz i think he's killing his own momentum. Sure he's winning but its not somethin id brag about. He hasnt really taken on anyone of noteworthy talent. Lets just say if he wasnt the gold mendalist i highly doubt he'd b gettin this lil bit of exposure he just got last night. Ive seen him fight n person a few other times and he hasnt shown much improvement. He looks sloppy until his lesser opponent gives out. Granted he's still young n the career but u have other guys with FAR less experience @ the same age (granted not in the same weight division) makin more moves. I think he'll have to part ways with his corner if he really wants to make moves. I think his corner is partly to blame. They know they cant take him to the next level but wont tell him that.

lol and to finish off my lil rant.. im not a God hater or nothin but damn that SOG (Son Of God) image just doesnt float my boat.

needlesstosay this video is gettin deleted off the DVR.
