The Smoking Gun continues its efforts to discredit rappers’ reputations. In an article posted on the site today, TSG revealed that hulking Grand Hustle recording artist, Alfamega, was a former informant for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and a government witness.

According to the site, the Grand Hustle Muscle, copped a deal with the government in order to shorten his 1995 jail bid in on federal gun charges. TSG obtained legal documents showing that the Atlanta rapper, born Cedric Zellars, testified against a known heroin dealer as well as several other criminals to have 18 months subtracted from his 110 month sentence.

As of press time Mega has not responded to the TSG report.

Alfamega was recently in the news after he was arrested for getting into a fight with Shawty Lo’s camp during last year’s Dirty Awards in November. Having to be restrained by several police officers, he was eventually escorted out of the event handcuffed and pepper-sprayed.

The Bankhead rep’s long -delayed Atlantic debut I Am Alfamega, has yet to be hit the shelves. – Elan Mancini

whats funny is...which i don't agree with.. is the media is kinda making it seen like itz okay to be a cop or a snitch. itz a shocker for one. and 2, nobodies really doing anything about it. who's gettin clapped? where the real gangstas at? Godmother from Cocain Cowboys don't play and you know it. as long as the rappers keep makin hits, got somethin to talk about, somethin to interview and keep generating revenue. itz all good. I bet by the end of the year alot more people are gonna be exposed as snitches.
I bet the FBI damn sure got a few more up they sleeve. GUCCI? JEEZY? supposed to be big YAYO pushers yeah right, are they really? we all know how 50 gets down he stay with an Agent Smith.

Thats prolly why Pimp C died. Set up and drugged for runnin his mouth about the game. He might as well been snitchin on himself puttin his business out there like that.

EDIT: itz like we all love gangsta movies Scarface, New Jack City, In Too Deep, Carlito's Way, Casino. I mean thats how hollywood be glamorizing shit, the cops are a part of the game, always following and watching, banaculars and shit, wires, snitches, bullets and guns, but to push the Music to an even further extend, the make is seem like a movie. that stay rappers are damn near playin a role in a movie.....the shit is just fuckin nuts now.

you know this is dude that knew dre when they were locked up in the feds.

alfamega said:
The first person who believed in me was Mac Dre," says ALFAMEGA, remembering his first encounter with the deceased Bay Area Hip Hop martyr. "He told me I had skills, and that if I didn't get a record deal when I got out, the game was rigged."
