So I was watching ESPN News right after the fight last night, and an ESPN News boxing analyst (I forgot his first name) "Iceman" Shelby propose that a more exciting fight than Mayweather would be Pacquiao possibly moving up to 154 and facing Paul Williams. And if you guys dont know who Paul Williams is, hes probably the most underrated boxer in the world right now.

What do U guys think of Pacquiao (5'6) vs Williams (6'1-6'2)? Personally this fight intrigues me more than a Mayweather fight.

Iceman John Scully is his name, former pro and current trainer.

That is an intriguing fight but it would have to happen only if Pac beat Mayweather, because that's the fight the fans want first and foremost. And it would probably be pretty unfair I mean Paul Williams has fought at middleweight, he's 6'3 and his reach is longer than pacquiao's body practically and pacquiao at 154 is really pushing it, although Freddie Roach did say last night or today that he does want pacquiao to win another title in another weight class (154) and if Williams beats Martinez coming up it is a possibility (which is no guarantee), although I would imagine pretty small.

They'd probably take the David Diaz route if they went to 154. Fight the weakest belt holder just for the sake of collecting a belt and that would be Yuri Foreman ATM (a fight that could easily be made considering both are promoted by Bob Arum). Foreman would get the payday of his life and it could be easily promoted as Pacquiao going for a title in an 8th weight class.

.. all this should ONLY happen after Pacquiao/Mayweather which is the #1 fight that needs to be made.

yea that's too much of a mismatch...manny's last 3 fights have been mismatches due to his size so fighting a cat that big would be some david vs goliath shit. he said after the fight last night hat he ain't goin to move up any
higher.

Not saying this is comparible, but David Haye just beat Valuev who outweighed him by a 100 pounds and was a foot taller.
