I think yall misinterpreted that scene. The tape yella gave E on his bed was the actual album that came out after E died which was E 1991 Eternal. E was alive when the EP dropped but it wasnt a full album. Yella mentions the album is dope meaning E 1999. Got Em!!

makes sense, but that movie is everywhere. they didn't even show Arabian Prince, who was original NWA prior to Yella and Ren. he did Panic Zone which was released after Boyz N The Hood. Boyz N The Hood wasn't an NWA song until "NWA and the Posse".

and i think Pac was in prison when Dre led cops on a high speed. and Dre was drunk. he wasn't mad a Suge for partying while Pac was in the booth.

Maybe youre right, or maybe they just blew through lots of details in the last act of the movie. Got what?

I am right about that scene however later in the film they were kinda all over the place especially with Pac. Hail Mary wasnt recorded until 96 and way after california Love was recorded so I dont know why they did that. I think they just wanted to put a Pac scene in the film for the fans but they couldve had him singing a different song but Hail mary is one of his most popular songs so im sure thats why they did that. Still a brilliant film and very important! Got Em!!

I saw that and wondered "maybe he recorded that song prior to California Love, but released it years later", kinda giving them the benefit of the doubt, like I did the whole movie.

kinda the same with Cube when he did Gangsta Gangsta at the club where Dre invited Eazy and Ren. Gangsta Gangsta wasn't released til SOC, and Cube (under NWA) only rapped on Dopeman prior to SOC. I kinda gave the movie the benefit of the doubt, like "maybe he wrote Gangsta Gangsta prior to Boyz N The Hood, or at least wrote the first verse". I doubt it though since that song is more "gangsta" than anything they did prior to SOC.

honestly, I been an NWA fan since '87 when they had their shit with Macola Records. i was only in 2nd grade but i have an older brother who had the tape. Boyz N The Hood, Dopeman, Drink It Up, Panic Zone and 8 Ball were my favorites probably cus my brother played those the most. No One Can Do It Better, all that old shit. cool story bro, but that's why i aint feelin this movie. if it were just a "fictional" story written about 5 youngsters who formed a group and created a controversial album and then each had later fall outs and success, then it would be a good movie.

Yea but who knows when he wrote the first verse for Gangsta Gansta? He had notepads full of rhymes and you can easily piece a song together with old versus so I was ok with that stuff. Timeline wise I only had a problem with the 2Pac stuff thats it. Got Em!!

that's what i'm sayin. maybe he wrote the first verse prior to NWA. if so, cool, if not, wack. i'll take it as he did really do the first verse, but the movie writing is too consolidated and that's why you get fake Pac scenes.

Watched the movie this weekend and thought it was a great movie, however a few things irked me that were mentioned in here, some not:

From the get go I knew there were going to be some inaccuracies from the very first part of the movie they have eazy in a black and white sox hat from 86, this type of stuff is big with me bc this was my era and I remember when the sox changed their logo in the early 90's it was a hot item to buy bc it was easy to fit in for the gangsta image

The fuck the police part where they got arrested in Detroit didn't go down like that, however for those that don't know it plays an important part in the movie showing them as standing up for what they thought was right, however that was hollywooded.

The pac part with Hail Mary which you guys were discussing

The NWA reunion which again played a big part, I thought that dre and eazy were both against it leading up to Eazy's death (I could be wrong, but this is what I thought was going on back then)

Eazy going out broke, I find this hard to believe bc eazy was steadily active before his passing especially with bone when they blew up

The bone tape at the end to me they made it seem to look like a bone demo tape, or when I seen yellow on the tape I thought maybe they were making it out to be the faces of death tape

The didn't touch much on niggaz4life or Eazy's solo's like its on, which they should have touched since they did dre day, and also straight off the streets which he recorded shortly before his passing

I know a lot of people wanted to see above the law, miche'le, bone, bg knocc out and dresta etc in the movie, but the movie was 2.5 hours and they did touch on a lot, no matter what everyone is going to want more including myself but they did cover what was NWA.

Yellas parts were good, Eazy's character was on point. Suge's character sucked balls

We all knew the movie would be holloywood'd a bit, but overall I really enjoyed the movie and will definitely watch it again.

Good point. Another thing is they were wearing fitted hats in the movie, but back in those days people on the West Coast sported snap backs only. Fitted hats started originally as a East Coast style in the late 90s.

Also Ice Cube and Dre's characters in the movie were wearing the custom all black LA Dodgers hat, but those custom all black MLB hats didn't exist until the year 2003.
