What is he going to fight at a made up division of 156 for ever? Lol makes no sence. The boy is growing out of the division he's going to be forced to fight at 160 eventually.
I don't see the jump to 160 going well for Canelo, especially with all those lanky middleweights in that division. Canelo has a very short reach as is, he's gonna get jabbed to hell at 160. His trainers better break out the cases of slimfast.

I'm undecided about ordering this fight. I don't think ill miss anything historic, unless Angulo steam rolls Canelo.
If the undercard was good I'd buy it but it's pretty shitty not a single fight really looking forward to. Molina vs Charlo was already a horrible fight (to watch) and Thats off now, plus Omar Figueroa pulled out 5 days ago so the best fight is Nihito Arakawa vs Linares and Canelos lesser talented older brother against some guy

exactly what I was thinking. I don't think he could beat any of the top 7 except for maybe Sturm. Sadly, that would also be his best win in my opinion if he did beat him.

I've seen a couple fights at the movies and I thought it was cool. It's kind of annoying for a Floyd fight because there are a large number of people there that know nothing about boxing but overall the experience was pretty dope if the price is right. My wife hates boxing but really enjoys going to the theater to watch a ppv

Damn it, I forgot about Figueroa being off of the card too. My friend is going to stream it anyways so I'll probably watch it over there but this card is really crap now. The headliners didn't make weight, 2 of the other main fights are off which sucked anyways.

Only hope is that Arakawa turns in a performance like he did against Figueroa and Mijares boxes well enough against Santa Cruz to keep it interesting. If Angulo didn't make weight, he might be drained like he was against Cintron and turn in a crap performance again.

Yes I agree. The 1 thing I absolutely hate about "big" fights is u get the "casual" boxing "fan" who doesn't know anything about the challenger. Let's be frank, they don't know shig. Casual female fans often ask, 'why doesn't he just knock him out?'. The casual male fan knows nothing about boxing technique or strategy and repeatedly cry's for 1 if not both fighters to fight in a style they've never done or can do, but he doesn't know that because he's only seen a TV commercial about the fighters.

*sigh*

I could run on. But yes it sucks watching big fights with MF's who don't know the first thing about the fighters, the ref, the tactics, or anything but for the 1hour before the fight, the duration of the fight and until someone tells em to STFU after the fight is a boxing expert who isn't an announcer because boxing is fixed, runs on and on at the mouth.

*sigh*

I hate big fights. I often watch them alone, unless I wanna talk shit

I guess Angulo did make weight. Apparently what happened was a couple days ago Team Canelo realized he wasn't going to make 154, so they talked to Angulo's camp and agreed to on the weight of 155 pounds, paying Angulo a $100,000 and also agreeing on a second day weigh in (,Canelo can't weigh more than 168). So Angulo weighed in at 154.5 which was under the 155 agreed upon weight (he could have made 154 but no point shedding off that last half pound).

Erislandy Lara:

"I think it's bullsh*t. It is disrespectful not only to Angulo and his team, but to the fans -*because this is on the pay-per-view level. This is not Showtime any more or ShoBox, this a pay-per-view. He says he is such a big star, then he should make the weight and obligate his contract," Lara told BoxingScene.com.

"I still feel the way regardless of Canelo not making weight.*I*just think Angulo is going to steamroll him. He is a strong guy, he comes ready to fight and throws a lot of punches.*I just think Angulo is going to steamroll him."
