RS: What would you say have been three big events in your life that have contributed to who you are now?
YG: Like accomplishments and stuff?
RS: Anything.
YG: The very first thing that kind of defined the person I am now and what I stand for was a couple years ago… I had gotten into an altercation in the Arizona desert with the police and I almost lost my life in that situation. That shit woke me up to timing; it made me understand that I don’t necessarily have all the time I think I got to do what I gotta do. That was definitely one big event for me, the losses I took in that situation. Also, bouncing back and recording David; David was a standout album for me. I’m really proud of that accomplishment. And also, just HM5; the response I’ve already gotten back from people who’ve heard it already think about it is that they’re talking classic. So for me to come from all the shit that I’ve came through and to be able to record something like this is a huge accomplishment for me, so those are some of the three biggest events in my life. They changed my life forever and I’m sure HM5 will further change it.
