Is it just me, or do alot of Woodie's beats have that 80's/Beverly Hills Cop sound to them?
Even the background music seems to have a few of those sounds.....

Woodie...if you read this, are you a fan of old school 80's music, and do you feel it has influenced the type of music you make?

His beats do have different sounds than most West Coast shit... I think the 80's sound you're thinkin of might be cuz the sounds are kind of "hollow" synth sounds, that's the only way I can think to explain it... I think his beats are pretty tight, but if they were all re-done with different, fuller sounds they'd be off the hook...

The song is "Cruel Summer" by Bananarama... Or if you're watching the movie, I think it's the part where Allie is having soccer practice!

80's breakbeat sound!

Woodie has only sampled two songs that I know of and that's (Skandocious) by Lil Los the original track was done by "Newcleus" (Jam On It) and that track has been remaid time after time by WestCoast and DownSouth producers. As for (Norte Siden) that was an 80's track called "Cruel Summer" later on redone in the late 90's by "Ace Of Bass". I don't think samplen two songs would make u an 80's remake artist like the so called Puff Daddy's wack ass!
