im guessing becuase it was harder to find the "underground" cd's locally so when you seen it, you copped it. being that they is underground finding them on the net isnt as easy as black bearding a mainstream cd which can be found anywhere locally, out of town, on the net, on the moon, beneath mars surface etc..

their not stupid.

overall look at sales in this region 4 local cats. even the so-called legends can't push units. no one is moving even 5,000 the 1st week. this is a shame when u look at the amount of people in the bay. it is a numbers thing. quality music from all aspects is another. but the bay and northern california in general is a breeding ground for ignorrance and haterism. legends in our own mind. if your stuck in the same position you were even 3 years ago, doesn't that signify a change? wether it be scenery or career wise, its a good decision. the standard in the bay is well below the industry therefore no one shines beyond themselves. yeah, i know, fuck the industry. but in the end who doesn't want to eat. let the stuck in the hood forwever dudes tell it though. im not mad either way. your mind has to be right before your grind is!

the biggest market ive seen is overseas!!!!!!!

but just what ive seen and my opinon!!!

keaks album didnt do well anywhere!!!!!
and alot of bay artists been selling a mere 0-2000 copies max

its a tuff market right now for financial reasons and people are skeptical on if they will get their moneys worth ontop of bootlegging!!

point blank every artists needs to expand rather then be held back to just bay sales!!!

if this is true right on for correcting me.

San Quinn: The Rock did 9k 1st week.. FAB Baydestrian did 8k..
both those artists definately get my support. shipped or actually scanned? im just curious. theres a handful of artists that should have no problem selling 20k in just the bay area or northern california for that matter. overall i think the blame falls equally on the fans and the artists. just my opinion. thers alot of outlets and ways to get free help wether its promotions or footwork. cats just don't utilize it or know where its at. theres alot of things that can be done that doesn't neccessarily cost money so to speak. but time is money. artists need to understand the team and the plan makes an album a success, not the talent or the release itself. its the entire package. major labels have team players in place so fitting in a descent artist is the last and least important peice to the puzzle, obviously, right? theres a few young artists on this site that have talent and could take it to the next level including the ones we all know. the question is wether mentally their ready? its a business at the end of the day and to some this is life. why not treat it as such?

Probably because they been pushing in the bay for a minute and thats what got the majors attention in the first place. Artists have to establish themselves more in other places cuz the local support is almost always gonna be there.

Thought we was talkin the American markets.. but obviously the overseas market is better when the economy and lifestyle is 20x's better! BUt how do you kno that niggaz aint hittin the overseas markets? what resources are you using to solidify accurate information like that? on da 1 tho.. its alotta muhfuckaz that take advantage of the markets 'cross seas.. DJ Shadow took alotta Bay niggaz to Europe and shit when he was pushin a hard line for this Bay shit.. But bigger labels wont fuck with an artist if they aint got that home support.. so its kinda ironic to see sum1 down play a nigga about not bn on tv or heavy in outside markets when that very same person doesn't even support him/her to begin with.. feel me?
