I was for quite some time an enthusiastic supporter of the Bolivian Revolution. And no, I don't think that banning a cartoon is some kind of atrocity. But it underscores a more general thing going on. The article writes about how narco-trafficking has been used as an excuse to interfere in the region. Well, it seems like that is not the best way to stand up to the US's War on Drugs by participating in it.
I had a lot of "fun" arguing with people who insisted with Chavez was a dictator who hated free speech only for stuff like this to happen. Why bother anymore?
