tupac repped allot of shit on some songs, but I think his individuality made him universal....since he was from every damn where, ny, boston, richmond..etc.... and was open to all kind of music, he could sound like whatever he felt like. NOt every one of his songs even sounds like the typical kali style...anyone who's heard the REAL UNRELEASED albums know the deal.....pac's music was just pac mane, i don't think it could ONLY be labeled bay or l.a. or even kali....just my opinion.......

Yup. It's hard to put Pac in one "category" musically or geographically--he basically did a little bit of everything, and he did it all well.

Outkast is kind of the same way to me--technically, they're from Atlanta, but they dabble in so many different sounds and lyrical styles that the only thing that makes me think of them as Southern is the accents in their voices. Otherwise, they could be from anywhere (if I didn't know any better). It's cool when you have artists whose music stretches beyond geographical boundaries like that...

PEACE!

Pac moved to L.A pretty much right after he got recognized as a rapper. He didn't spend a whole lot of time in the Bay after 2Pacalypse dropped...I look at him as a West Coast Rapper, but more so on the So Cal tip. No Bay Area rapper has blown up the way 'Pac did, so it's really hard for me to say he's a BAY rapper...I'd say he was a rapper that spent time in the Bay!!

I think it really does not matter where he came from, I mean he made music that was classic!

Like Sydal says, he spent time in the bay.....but it is the Bay that gave him the skills and opportunity that made him the rapper that he was to become when he blew up!

hes from baltimore, new york, and the bay. He moved to LA LA when Suge Signed him. The style he posses is Tupac style Thug Style. The song THug Style kind of touches on that subject.
