Learn to Syphon Gas
1. Find a used piece of hose -- a water hose or garden hose works fine as long as it is about five feet long.
2. Force one end of the hose into the fuel tank.
3. Blow on the hose as you insert it to hear a gurgling of liquid. When a deeper gurgling is heard, you're in.
4. Suck rapidly on the hose until you sense the liquid has begun to come into the hose. Lower the other end of the house so it is below the tank opening. Gravity will take over when liquid begins to flow and your suction makes it reach the downhill slope of the hose. It will flow out like magic until you stop the flow by lifting the hose above the tank opening.
* Alternate Method: Place a rag very tightly around the hose at the opening of fuel tank, then blow as hard as you can into the hose. Usually three good blows will force the fuel into the hose and make it begin to come out.
Warnings
* Gas is flammable and poisonous if ingested or fumes breathed. Use these methods with respect and common sense.
* Some new cars have a blocking plate to discourage siphoning gas.
