THE HYPHY MOVEMENT...IS GOING "DUMB," MAKING THE BLACK RACE LOOK "DUMB" ON T.V.....

OK well, the Turf Politishunz have a different view towards the Hyphy Movement. Though we embrace it and love that fact that the BAy is finally getting its shine, it could have its downfalls as well. For example, america has had plently of influence over making the BLACK society look like fools. Going DUMMY on national T.V. is setting us back more then its showing how the BLACK race has grown. Imagine when people from other countries come to america and see that on T.V. A bunch of BLACK people going "DUMB," then when BLACKS, are in the presence of these foreigners they act nervous. Were giving into the stereotype. You wonder why whites, asians etc, lock their doors when we pull up along side there cars, or tuck their purses, our feel uncomfortable in elevators...Hmmm...WERE GOING DUMMY ON T.V. NO WONDER WHY......

On another subject they tell us to call ourselves African Amercians (YEAH RIGHT), My Grandmother Born 1933 gets really upset when B.E.T. is brainwashing our youth to title ourselves as African Amercians. Her birth certificate states "BLACK," in all capital letters. If you were born in Africa then came to American theN yes your "African Amercian," but if you were born in American, pimp...your american.

im interested 2 hear your, and others, opinion on B.E.T.
Well my opinion on B.E.T. is as follows. White america will give BLACKS "just enough," voice to speak our opinion. There only gonna give us so much man, before they put a lid on it. 90% of B.E.T. is music, the rest is scattered out with movies carrying the same message as the "HOOD." The B.E.T. nightly news is one of the few shows that actually have a voice for BLACKS (barely), shit you can count the subliminal messeges AFRICAN AMERCIAN....AFRICAN AMERCIAN...AFRICAN AMERCIAN THEY DRILL THAT SHIT INTO YOUR HEAD. Tabis Smiley got the plug pulled. In my opinion B.E.T. is white americans tool to show the rest of the world how "White america," wants "BLACKS," to be seen.

i feel what these dudes are saying but, this is music! all different cultures act a different way to the music of their culture. You watch the indian music video or the asian music videos, they all doing they own thing to the music of their culture. So for a white person to lock their doors or tuck their purse when they see a black person pass by, because yesterday on BET they saw blacks "going dumb" and dancing in public with their cars something they never seen before is just ignorance.

Im str8 from West Africa so me moving to the bay area and seeing the way blacks out here towards music was similar to the way blacks act back home. What goes on here has its roots all the way back to Africa. Africans embrace whats going on more then anything. People from other countries in europe and asia embrace hyphy music because in other countries when we dance we like to let go.

I think every generation thinks that the next generation's music & dances look stupid-I look at those past generations the same way-Dances like "Kung Foo Fighting" the "twist"-Are they any better?? And those outfits cats wearing skin tight bell bottoms with flowers all over the pants & shirts? Burining & breaking of perfectly good instruments?? Was that not stupid & dumb?? I think that our generation is making its OWN MOMENTS...

My parents look back & laugh with good memories-And I KNOW that ONE DAY I look back and think of me: in my White Tee goin dumb over this music and Say damn kids I was young & stupid too but IT was FUN at that time!

And every music genre has its history of parents & politicians not agreeing of what the current generation is doing! If demeaning the black race is what u are concerned of -This post shouldve been posted 10 years ago when "gangsta rap" was out-(NOT KNOCKIN IT CAUSE I LOVE THAT SHIT-but this is pertaining to the person who started the thread) That hurt the black community more with its lyrics on Violence & Drugs.

Than this Hyphy/Dumb Movement...and just to end this/THIS ALL IMO.

Thank you. Every generation is different, and it's "going dumb" not "being dumb". Glad this topic is brought up, the difference should be addressed nationally. It's not a smart move to go dumb all the time, but when you're out at a club or what not there isnt nothing wrong with acting a fool and shit. I mean you can have your opinions on what you believe going dumb is, but for me, I leave that shit to the clubs and the parties.

Thats understandable, and it should be addressed nationally, but its not and thats it right there. Dont nobody know what that is. But are they gonna care when they find out. The tell me when to go video is not shot in a club in on neighborhood streets. And reguardless it look scarey to other races.

to answer the question...yes...this forum is evidence enough for that

...if you want to look and act retarded cause its fun than feel free. just dont get mad when you are judged for being that way cause 90% of the population doesnt understand. so to me all it is doing is breeding ignorance and prejudice about people from the bay and this young generation in general.

on a side note i like how people want to discuss a racial issue but felt the need to throw the word wigger in the mix...really validates your point and makes people want to hear what you have to say.way to get rid of that prejudice you are trying to address

"im tired of black people being judged for "going dumb"...but the wiggers wont understand this"

A black person who graduates from the top of his class, already has all the credentials and should know how to act when in the work place. A music video is not going to be the determining factor on whether or not he's going to be hired or not. If you wanna put it like that then when an employer is going to hire a young white dude are pictures of a punk rocker going dumb in a mosh pit going to flash through his head? All employers want is for blacks to be professional in the work place. if u come to an interview with grimey dreads, stunna shades, gold grill of course your not going to get the job. But come in nice and professsional, then after you get the job then grow your dreads.

i see the line between the 2 becoming more vague, especially to younger kids that see everybody doing this shit and dont know the difference, see this behavior as normal, and will eventually grow up to personify all the things that will look at as being innocent right now...it goes beyond music influence, its a culture
