I barley post on here...just usually read threads and what not....but I'm interested in peoples opinions about this cause I see it all the time ...

Hip-hop was built on the "fan's" opinion's of a rappers talent, style, swag..ect. ect. Everyones got thier own tastes so not everyones going to dig every artist...thats a givin and not surprising.

Back in the day you could say shit like "I like Rakim but I'm not feeling Kwame".....no love lost, just an opinion..

Now days it seems like the minute you say I think so and so is weak, for whatever reason, people like to pull the hater card....and alot of times these are cats that a good number of people really do think is weak....but then that one person will pop up with "yall haters"...

Theres more wack rappers/producers out there than ever before these days IMO....I dont "hate" any of them personaly.....just dont like what they bring to the table creativity -wise.... I can still respect thier hustle but that doesnt make them talented as far as music goes....

So does having an opinion make you a hater off top?

LOL it's been that way as long as this message board and the internet in general has existed

^ lol...true it is the siccness after all...and a bay site...

but still....I think its funny that people take shit so seriously....like they have to jump to the aid of some cat they probably dont even know (in most cases) and some how use the logic of them being a good hustler to make up for them being weak as an artist.

I don't call people haters if they have an opinion that I don't agree with.

It's just the way some people state their opinions that makes them seem like haters. There's a difference between saying "i'm not feelin that artist" and saying "this rapper fuckin sucks, he needs to quit rapping, i hope he chokes on his mic and dies"....feel me?

Or starting threads to talk down on someone....thats some unnecessary hater shit in my opinion.

What people usually say is "This [album / song / artist] is garbage".

Well it's not how adult people talk. I'd rather hear something like "I don't feel this shit at all. The production is not my type, flows are boring and lyrics ain't interesting" -> at least you know what is supposedly wrong with it.

On a side note: Siccness is flooded with hella stupid youngsters nowadays. I have an impression that I wasn't such an idiot a few years back, lol.

if you go out of your way to shit on someone you are a hater. if you derail a persons progress you are a hater.

for example, what i did to dr b was a hater move. but to justify my hate, i merely need to point to his 200+ posts he posted about himself and there is my justification.

im not saying you have to like something that you do not like, but you also are not obligated to shit in that persons cheerios when you could have been doing something else.

my 2 pennies.

IF YOU SAY SOMETHIN IS GARBAGE AND THE RAPPER SHOULD DIE WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION YOU ARE PROLLY GONNA COME OFF AS HATER (WHICH MOST PEOPLE DO)

NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE ON HERE SAY "IM NOT FEELIN SO & SO... HIS VOICE IS ANNOYING TO ME"

SHIT MOST OF THE TIME I WANNA KNOW WHY THEY THINK THAT... IM SURE THE ARTIST DOES TOO... YOU AINT GOTTA WRITE A ESSAY OR NOTHIN

I think I'm over analyzing this, but I really think the fact that since you are typing and not talking you never know the real emotion of the person.

I bet half of the "hate" on here would not be taken as such if you were talking with the person and could hear the tone of their voice and the context in which they are saying it.

But strictly on the net side of things you are a hater if you constantly pop up bashing the same people or saying the same shit over and over. Remember...just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to chime in any time someone brings it up.

It's a double edge sword in every direction. If you go against the grain / keep it real, you a "hater".

If you go with the flow, you just a follower, dick riding etc etc...

I have actually been jammed up (in real lfe) about something I've stated. My opinions are harsh and straight foward with no sugar, but that's how I hold my ground and state that's my opinion. Some peole just can't handle it. The way I see it is the fuckin' world can't all agree on everything, so not agreeing about music is petty IMO.

Lot of people in here should be happy muthaphuckaz stand on they own two and say they think something sucks (when everybody else is rah rahing like it's the tightest shit ever).

That's like you not telling your Homie he's making an ass of himself, or point out his personal problems (as in drinking / drug problem etc etc...) and let that Homie crash and burn. If you stay quiet you are a fake friend and your action speaks highly that you don't give a shit about him.

If you bring it up, he and a few others may label you a bitch etc etc, but that would make you the realest friend he's got.

In retrospect, there is alot of muthaphuckaz in here that go beyond opinions and what could be a simple disagreement, ends up to be personal attacks by numorous members.

Which perhaps leads to the majority of guesses being correct from OG members that have been here awhile...

That we're dealing with a bunch of kids.

when you go above and beyond.

ive been guilty a time or two but just like yall im interested in supporting the bay movement, not by opinionating but actually buying a product that counts towards real numbers. unfortunately i feel sometimes reality statements are needed to wake people up and bring the trulygifted bay artists the light and shine they deserve. not rap groupies and clowns. call it hate but in alot of cases it is reality. thats why the siccness is a good test. theres no holding back if ya wack!
