I agree with Tosin on the lack of similarity...from my observation it appears that Christian Cortes uses a combination of Corel Paint and Illustrator, whereas Kaos is mainly using heavy airbrushing techniques in Photoshop. I feel most people in this forum would have no problem creating work like Kaos, however, Cortes is another story. Cortes is creating original scenes not airbrushing over photos. Personally, Corel Paint is far more advanced in traditional techniques than Photoshop and carries a much more polished presentation. Whether one is an illustrator or painter, Photoshop can only go so far. I'm wrapping up my study of Corel Paint and plan to push my design outside of the realm of easy duplication. For example, you can't get this level of feel, detail, and realism in Photoshop...I feel Shemp in wanting to perfect his design to make it harder for others to copy

thats somewhat true. I wasn't trying to copy as a style either trust me. I rather design more realistic items base on great photography and great design techinques I was jsut wondering how they did it thats all. it never hurts to know different ways of doing things ya feel me? Photoshop can go futher than a lot of think also. its just may be a soultion like corel that can get it faster. but I feel ya on the feel and detail though. As for right now I am saving up to get corel painter 9 now

is there any tutorials on airbrushing? lol that shits nice

Here’s how: First create a new layer. Then take a soft edged brush, lower the flow to about 3, and eye drop the color of the subject (in that particular section) you are to airbrush. Next, start brushing in either a half-circular motions or in the direction of the subject or area of execution. Make sure you continuously eye drop the same color of the intended area of airbrush. This will produce a clean airbrush rather than a one-toned color application over the subject.
