damon jamal and philthy are good friends so im sure he gettin a good deal when it comes to the videos.. MTV dont even play any videos anymore,and honestly being on MTV2/jams doesnt really do much as far as making or breakin an artists...B.E.T only plays east coast or dirty south artists consistently...even the "quality" videos that have come out the bay within the last 2-3 years havent been done much, the kafani and bobby v. video was good quality and i didnt see it but one time on BET...in order to succeed u gotta have 1.good music 2.hustle 3.visuals(videos)
yeah true. but i have to agree with damon jamal on one thing. he said in that MTV quality interview he said the tv nowadays is the internet WSHH, thisis50, we the west etc. thats pretty true imo. quality is a good look but you also need good cinematography to make a GREAT video. honestly i think prime zero flopped GREAT bay songs...glamorous lifestyle and the kafani video. also the no hoe remix video..AWESOME quality....but poor directing and editing skills. these directors in the bay are flopping artist. they really need to save that money...or use that money on directors like TAJ, colin tilley or matt alonzo maybe even aris jerome if he steps up his quality. look what erk tha jerk video came out to be. that will be on tv forsure and its already pretty big.
erks track has a nationwide appeal to it...taj said on his site that he wanted to create a video that didnt having bay area landmarks...put those 2 heads together and u have a great song with a great video that appeals to a greater audience....philthy has oakland written all over him, his videos have oakland all over it...but he's growin and learnin and his non stop hustle will eventually get him past local stardom, he's a very good friend of mine and knows that his main thing from now on is once he gets outs from jail in june is to stay out!! in the mean time....FREE PHILTHY RICH!!
Also have to say I respect anyone that even does a video good quality or not. Just the fact that they put in the effort to do one makes me a lot of times want to pick up they album I became a fan of Philthy the last year thru a lot of guest spots I heard him on and seeing his videos made me buy the Fonk or Die the day it dropped. Tell him I said keep his head up,he has a bright future ahead of him,stay out of trouble and good things are gonna come
