davenport is coo, but the steelers aren't gonna be the same in the playoffs without parker.....I'd bet they make ben throw more to compensate

"Our heart goes out to him because he's a competitor, he's a warrior," coach Mike Tomlin said. "As a team, we're not going to throw a pity party. It's part of the game, people get hurt, we'll adapt and improvise and move forward."

thats a real coach
dude was havin a good year

I still dont' think Parker is that good. We have a good run-blocking line and run the zone offense.

My dad's high school football team has been running the zone offense for 15 years and they can put any little suburban white kid in as running back and he becomes a 1,000 yard rusher. Steelers, Broncos, and any other team that does the zone offense is the same way.

Parker's talented, but any running back in our system is gonna have a good game. Najeh had 130 yards and 2 touchdowns in 3 quarters.

That's the best injury we could have had.

LOL... you're trippin. That's a huge loss... Parker is super fast and you can't coach speed...

"The best injury you could have had"?? WTF?

Najeh did that against the Rams…you think he’s gonna be doing that against teams like SD, Jax, NE or Indy? It’s possible…but probably isn’t gonna happen.

I don’t see how this doesn’t hurt you guys…like Tony said…the dude is fast.

Defenses will be able to catch Najeh.

It also hurts because he was leading the league in rushing. Having Willie Parker opened up the play action passes for Big Ben, now that Willie is gone teams may not have to stuff the box because Davenport doesn't have Willie's break away speed. This hurts the Steelers big time...

Stealth I agree with you 100% on this! Die hard Steelers fans who follow our team day to day know this is true too! As much as I like Willie, I still don't think he fits into the type of offense we should be running. I see his injury being a blessing in disguise for the Steelers. Let's go back to what made Steeltown great with that Smashmouth Power running game! I also agree with the Zone Blocking! Did you see that Wedge blocking that Faneca, Mahan and Simmons did last night! It was beautiful and Davenport was picking up 5 to 6 yards a carry! I would rather have a offense that can move the ball methodically, rather than a one punch fast back like Willie Parker. If we pound the ball behind a Zone Offense, we can run play action better with Big Ben since our Pass Blocking sucks. By the way what the fucks up with Marvel Smith this year? He gets beat on every fuckin' pass play! If Ben wasn't as strong and mobile as he is, we would be really fucked!!!

LOL at everyone saying the Steelers are gonna be worse off without Parker in the playoffs. These folks obviously haven't seen all the games like we have this season. I'm tired of seeing Parker getting pulled down at the L.O.S. like a rag doll or falling when he's barely touched. For the remainder of the season I think we are better off using Najeh and Davis with Isolations and Dives. I liked how we pulled our TE Heath Miller to help with the Wham Isolation plays also. POWER FOOTBALL is STEELERS FOOTBALL!!! Fuck those finesse Counters, Misdirections, etc. We can run those with our WR's once in awhile to keep the defenses honest. It's about time Bruce Arians got smart last night and called a better game. GO STEELERS!!!

and i think davenport has better hands than parker. shit sucks that he got injured and shit looks pretty nasty. yea parkers alot faster than davenport but i agree, he hasnt really done shit this season we might be better off with out him for now. i really dont think its gonna criple the steelers the way everyone seems to think. im not really worried.
