I'VE BEEN A MASTER-P FAN SINCE 1991 AND I AM STILL A FAN OF "P" TO THIS DAY. I KNOW HE KIND OF USED THE BAY TO GET TO THE TOP AND DIDN'T GIVE MUCH PROPS BACK ONCE HE WAS THERE BUT HE HAS PUT OUT ALOT OF QUALITY ALBUMS. I THINK HIM AND HIS WHOLE CREW WERE DOPER WHEN THEY WERE IN THE BAY REPPIN THE RICH BUT HE HAS HAD SOME DOPE SHIT IN THE MILLENIUM. I ALWAYS WANTED TO SEE A TRU REUNION ALBUM WITH THE ORIGINAL LINE UP WHICH WAS MASTER-P, KING GEORGE, SILKK, C-MURDER, AND CHILEE POWDAH. UNFORTUNATELY BIG ED (RIP) WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BE A PART OF IT.

HE WAS BORN IN THE BAY, IM PRETTY SURE RICHMOND TO BE EXACT N THEN GOT RAN OUT N TOOK HIS BITCH ASS TO N.O.
No Master P is from New orleans along wit C-Murder. I forgot the story but I think when his grandmother or g pops passed he took the money he inherited and relocated to richmond with his moms or other family members. C murder stayed in the N.O P would then be back n forth between the rich and the N.O. this is from what I remember some details may be a lil off.

that's how NO Limit started. he inherited money from his grandad when he passed. they first started by opening No Limit the record shop. but other than that. his rap skills wasn't all that but he had some tight ass beats.

Haha @ people who act like he OWES something back to a particular region for his success. What a complete load of bullshit.

The guy went and got a degree at university and then worked his ass off and ran his operation like a business from day one. He would have made it just as big regardless of where he was.

This is directly to all of the Master P "haterz":
I'm not from the Bay or New Orleans, but I know that Percy Miller is holdin down Baton Rouge. As far as the point of this thread, Master P is as important part of the Bay area independent music scene, as JT the Bigga Figga, Mac Dre, E-40, Khayree, Mac Mall, 3XKrazy, Rappin 4'Tay, The Luniz, C-Bo, Brotha Lynch Hung, and Murder Dog Magazine. MOST OF YOU CALI CATZ never even had the South on ya'lll music radar until "P" opened ya'll up. AND THAT'S WHATS UP!!! If you don't feel that I am prepared to represent....

Give the man his props. He made it to the top. He was born in N.O. but moved to Rich back in the day.
He is also a part of independet bay area rap shit, and he is cool with the most bay rappers. A lot of his albums were crap. But a few were real tight and Ghetto D is my fav.

im not no master p hater and i think dude was a true hustler, but i think you got something twisted. he wasnt an important part of the bay area indy scene because that shit was poppin long before he came to the yay. the bay area indy scene was important to him because he learned that straight laced bay game, soaked it, and applied that shit to his hustle and blew the fuck up.
