Interview with Proof from allhiphop.com
AHH: You speak the truth, yo! Check this out, I want to talk about D-12 as a whole, you know what I'm saying? Y'all sold a multi-platinum record, but there are six members of your team. Do you see that as a disadvantage where the money is concerned, or do you feel y'all exceeded all expectations as far as wealth, fame, and all the worldly shit?
Proof: I can speak for every group member when I say we have not gained the respect that we want as lyricists. Because of the picture that was painted, Em's success, and that "Purple Pill" shit, it pushed us into the pop culture. We feel like we fucked up on the first album. All the dudes in the group can really spit. I don't think we got our respect as spitters. I'm a battle rapper, and nobody knows that, you know what I'm saying?
AHH: When can we expect the next D-12 jump off?
Proof: It's supposed to be this summer. The thing is there was no battle element on the first record; we didn't say shit. Next time out, I'm coming for my respect.
