Nas & Damian's Distant Relatives

As everyone knows by now, Nas has teamed up with Damian Marley for an upcoming album titled "Distant Relatives." Featuring "the signature instrumentation and musicianship of Marley with the hard hitting beats and lyrics of Nas," the tracklist for the new album has found its way online. [view here] Featuring guest appearances by K'naan, Joss Stone, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu and even the late Bob Marley, the project is mainly produced by Damian Marley with help from 9th Wonder.

"Distant Relatvies" refers not only to the bond of Nas and Damian, but the bond to their African ancestry, which inspired the album both musically and lyrically (according to the press release). "Africa is the backbone of the world and the foundation of everything and Africans are in a situation where they need help more than anywhere else," Marley says.

I went to the Nas & Damien show here in the PO back in July & if this CD is anything like their show then I'm good. I'll just jam this when other people are playing it I won't waste my $ on it unless it is good...
