I saw this on the Dallas forum im always on. When I thought about this last week, I didnt want him, but then I got to thinking about the draft and all the other shit and Moss would be a koo fit in Dallas. Moss, Owens, Witten, Barber, Romo.....then rebuild our secondary in the draft... yeah it would be nice, gonna have to wait and see.

MOSS TO DALLAS?
We've mused from time to time about the possibility of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones correcting one of the biggest mistakes he ever made. Ten years ago, Jones was leaning toward selecting receiver Randy Moss with the eighth overall pick in the draft.
In the end, Jones passed.
Later that year, Moss caught three passes for three touchdowns in a Minnesota win over the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
So with Moss destined to hit the open market on Friday, could Jones' recent vow to put "wow" in the offense result in a decision to add Moss?
Think about it. Who in the heck would the defenses double-team? Focus on T.O., and Moss is wide open. Focus on Moss, and Owens runs free. Focus on both, and Jason Witten makes a helmetless rumble to the end zone.
John Czarnecki of FOXSports.com writes that the Patriots and Moss aren't close to a new deal, and that the Pats believe that Moss will give them a chance to match any offer that he receives on the open market.
Most intriguingly, the Czar acknowledges the existence of a rumor that the Cowboys will make a play for Moss.
Still, if there's concern about T.O. and Javon Walker not being able to co-exist, the entire NFL should get its popcorn ready to watch Owens explode when Moss rolls into town with the kind of contract Owens would love to have. Instantly, Owens would be politicking for a dollar-for-dollar match of Randy's deal, and it would only go downhill from there.
So, obviously, we're secretly hoping that the Cowboys sign Moss.

and then someone posted this

Randy Moss on a Plane headed to Dallas per ESPN Radio about 30 minutes ago.

Jerry Jones was said to have gauranteed 6-7 million for a one year contract.

moss and t.o would never play together, moss would be fine but t.o would bitch cause someone would be taking his catches. plus moss hates Dallas because Jones called him on draft day and said he was gonna pick him and he didn't. i dont see this actually happening i think moss is using them to get more money from the pats or another team

found a little article on the situation

With rumors circulating Monday afternoon the Dallas Cowboys could be one of the potential destinations for free agent wide receiver Randy Moss, TheRanchReport.com says...

Randy Moss playing for the Cowboys next season?

As famed ESPN college football analyst Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friend."

A report on FoxSports.com earlier today suggested Dallas could be the eventual destination for the free agent wide receiver should he not re-sign with the New England Patriots.

In case you haven't seen it yet, here is an excerpt from John Czarnecki's article:

The Patriots and Randy Moss really aren't close to a new contract, although the Pats believe Moss will give them the option to match whatever deal he does receive on the open market. That makes sense because the clubs pursuing Moss will be limited because he wants to play for a contender. The most interesting rumor is Moss joining the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys can pay up, and wouldn't T.O. and Moss be interesting to watch, not to mention impossible to defend?

Sure, Moss, on paper, would be an incredible acquisition, especially after examining his production last season. In his lone year in New England, he caught 98 passes for 1,493 yards and a mind-boggling 23 touchdowns.

Imagine that kind of productivity in combination with Terrell Owens in 2008.

Without question, the Cowboys' passing attack would be nearly impossible to defend. Who would you double team? How you be able to stop Marion Barber while having to focus on two Hall of Fame wide receivers being thrown to by Pro Bowl quarterback Tony Romo?

Again, on paper, this makes a good deal of sense.

Too bad football games aren't played on desks.

The reality is a deal like this would be nearly impossible to pull off and would likely have enormous negative ramifications in the locker room.

Why?

For starters the Cowboys aren't in the proper salary cap position to pull such a maneuver, even with the creative loop holes used by Jerry Jones.

Remember, there are still two players from last year's team who need to be locked up in Marion Barber and Flozell Adams. Barber especially, is the future of the Cowboys at the running back position.

In addition, how in the world could two players as emotionally explosive as Owens and Moss co-exist on the same team? How would the ultra-relaxed Wade Phillips be able to handle that combination through the ups and downs, the good and the bad of a 16-game regular season schedule?

Quite frankly, I don't want to know.

Furthermore, Dallas needs to get younger at wide receiver, not older. Moss, 31, is near the end of his career. Who's to say he could come halfway close to his production from a year ago anyway?

And what if he becomes disinterested, like he did in Oakland all those years? True, the Raiders aren't the Cowboys, but you get the idea.

TheRanchReport.com's stance on this report is nothing more than worthless rumors being spread around due to the time of year. It happens every offseason about this time- so it shouldn't be that big of a surprise.

Maybe the Moss camp is wanting to put this "out there" to drive up the price of his next deal. Maybe it was just bogus to begin with.

Whatever the reason, don't believe the hype.

Barring some sort of miracle occurring, Randy Moss will not be playing football for the Cowboys in 2008.

^^^i agree and u have to look at it in moss' perspective as well. he had his best season to date with us so why would he want to risk leaving, he was finally accepted in by a team. and we are contenders every year for the bowl. as for the pats they wont let them go.
