The Niners told Newberry they will not re-sign him.. He doesn't want to leave the Bay so he said he'd like to go to Oakland. If the raiders were smart, they'd jump at the chance. Their line blows, Newberry is a great center.. He's just been injured. The Niners are making a mistake IMO..

The guy hasn't played a full season since what...2003?

I don't see why you would think they are making a mistake in letting him go.

Nolan fucked up with this call...he says he wants to go in a differnt direction...however the hell that applies to Jeremey...dude was great...just had some problems...and now he says he's feeling as good as he's been since 04.

With Heitman out, this would be a no brainer IMO. Newberry's proven that he's a force to be reckoned with.

Foolish move coach.

Newberry hasn't given himself the chance to get healthy until this last season. He's been playing injured and not allowing his body to heal. After a whole year of time to heal, he'll be fine.

And Solitary.. An injured Jeremy Newberry is twice as good as any lineman your squad currently has.

Couldn't hurt to bring him in and give him a try. Grove sure as hell aint the answer.
Seen Newberry at the bars a couple months ago..hollered "raaaaiders" when I seen him..He heard me and looked over. Seemed like a pretty chill guy.

FATAL I'M NOT TRYING TO SAY THAT ANY OF OUR LINEMAN ARE ANYWHERE NEAR DECENT, OR SAY THAT JEREMY NEWBERRY WASN'T A GREAT LINEMAN. HE WAS.. IN HIS PRIME.. THE FACT IS, HIS INJURIES ARE CHRONIC AND THE CAREER ENDING TYPE. HE SAID HIMSELF THAT IT WAS PROBABLY OVER.. YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME YOU CAN LOOK IT UP.

I don't need to look it up. I know what he said. But it doesn't change the fact that he would be an upgrade to your line. As long as he stays healthy for a season or two, you'll get a great player.. He's played better with multiple injuries than anyone on your whole squad can play healthy.

Put it this way, theres no way that even a semi-healthy Newberry could even hurt that garbonzo ass offensive line. I mean, theres not much further to go down than rock bottom...which lets be honest...is where The Raiders offense as a whole stands.
