From Kobe and my point of view the Lakers aren't trying to win now but instead are rebuilding toward the future. It all became clear last year when the Lakers declined the Jason Kidd trade deciding to keep Andrew Bynum instead. Now they have some ok young players (Walton, Farmar, Bynum, Turiaf, and Brown) but when you have a player like Kobe whos main focus is on winning rebuilding is just not an option. So if you were Mitch would you entertain the Jermaine O'neal trades, go after KG, maybe even go back with JKidd. Or keep the young guys in house and draft solid rookies and try to contend down the road.

Rebuild! fuck Kobe and his whining ass! Trade for future superstars! Phil Jackson ain't no sucka! He knows how to build a franchise. He knows how to coach. Imagine if they got Ben Gordan and Kirk Hinrich plus a 2nd rd pick for Kobe. Wow it'll be the trade of the century! Kobe can't win a champion ship all by himself. He is a fuckin ball hog! Self centered player! His only chance to win a championship is being a role player behind a dominant center (i.e. Shaq).

They need to win now because who doesn't want to win now? The players they have now even in a few years are still going to suck. They need to get Kobe some help so he shuts the fuck up about the trades and goes back to focusing on basketball

Kobe + Chicago Bulls + Eastern Conference = Interesting

As long as the Bulls don't have to give up Nocioni or Tyrus Thomas to get him

lakers don't have much to build with so basically gotta trade out their weakass role players for some decent play makers and hope for the best lol. You not going to go anywhere if Luke Walton ends up being your best player on the team lol that guys a joke.

I'm not even going to read all the replies; here's my opinion!

You can't ''win now'' with Kobe and a bunch of D-League players, and that's what the Lakers have. Yeah, Walton, Farmar, Bynum, Parker, Jones, Turiaf, etc. are nice...but what team would have any of those guys as starters?

NONE.

That's pathetic; if I WAS LAKERS GM, I'd trade him to the best suitor; and you have 2 years to do it, before he can opt out of his contract. Take your time...

As a Bulls fan (AND A ***QUOTE ME*** KOBE FAN) I'd like to see him in a Bulls uniform, but won't cry if he doesn't end up in Chicago.

The more I thought about it, the more I feel they should try to get a big man, being it O'Neal, Garnett, or Zach Randolph. ((((CHECK OUT THAT STORY ON ESPN.COM!))))

Either way...Lakers, with or WITHOUT Kobe, are garbage. REBUILD NOW!

Shit, if the Bulls had to give up those two for him, DO IT!!!

Nocioni is nice, but not THAT great...and Thomas is VERY athletic, but raw...he'll NEVER be a ''great'' player; he's another version of Stromile Swift.

Lakers wouldn't even take that deal...LOL.

If I were the Lakers GM, this team wouldn't be this bad. What idiot thought it would be wise to give Kwame I suck Brown 9mil a year. Or Radmonovic the FULL mid level for an extended period of time. You cant "rebuild" in places like New York and LA. Thats why Isiah Thomas keeps trading for washed up stars.

They NEED to trade kobe but they CANT trade him. They should rebuild but no one will come to the games if the Lakers suck AND dont have a superstar who can put on a show and score 81 points on any given day.

I hope that was a joke. While I wont say Jackson isn't a great coach, what has ne built exactly? IMO, he is a great coach that can take really good players and put them in a better position. I mean come on, he has had legends and top 50 players ever playing for him. What has he done with an AVERAGE Laker team besides get them to the 1st round....heck you can say Kobe did that with all his scoring
