Yeah there is a big buzz around this guy. He's 23-0, 23 KO's. They are not all in the first round, although his first 18 fights were 1st round KO's.
Personally I think this guy is a lil over-hyped. He hasn't faced any real opposition as of yet, mainly because he is banned from fighting in the US (he was in a bad motorcycle accident several years ago and US doctors found irregularities in brain scans). Because he hasn't fought anyone really good, it's tough to measure how good Valero is.
Joan Guzman is a likely opponent to happen soon. I think Guzman will school this guy in a wide UD, possibly even knocking Valero out. Although Valero will ALWAYS have a punchers chance.
I'd like to see more of this guy though thats for sure and hopefully he can get cleared in the states. He could be a huge star.
BTW, the record for most consecutive first round KO's is by this kid named Tyrone Brunson. He's 19-0 with 19 first round KO's. He's only 22 so he may get a couple more, but like Valero he's fought a bunch of bums, so no one really knows if this guy is really all that great or not.
