Well all I am asking is this: I am a producer/artist that has been feat. on cd's here and there and am thinking about throwing in the towel and selling all my music gear that I have bought over the last few years because I feel that I can invest my money in something better? I have spent hella skrill on equipment and every pay day I buy somethang new..anywho I just want you to peep my music and give me some advice to eithier "Keep at it" or "Sell all my equipment and invest in somethang new"? Please lend your ears and post (all comments would be appreciated).....Btw all beats made by: TAZTWI$TED & RICOCHET (2 KEYED MUZIC).

HEY TAZ....

You do music for the love don't you. Well love don't pay the bills but at least you can make your art the way you want. If you never make a dime off this game, just remember what you are truly in it for. If we in it for the money, most of us might as well throw in the towel. This music is a slow nickel.... Keep building your music resume. Shit I'm in it over ten years and still don't got much to show. But I'm a sav who goen stay breakin my self on equipment and makin music. Just some words from one producer to another.....

Mr. Cleen you good peeps man & I appreciate the advice & thoughts you give me. I do it for the love of it but man I need to make some moves if my shit aint marketable why keep investing. Just wanted to know how people felt on the production tip. And the best critism is from people who dont know you and buy cd's for the love of music.

Thanks everyone for your comments that's exactly what I wanted!

DON'T TRIP....

Everybody aint gone like your beats. Just continue workin wit the cats that do. Right now cats can't really afford to buy beats cause of the economy or they want them for pennies. I don't even really trip on sellin beats. Shit I'd rather just produce my own product. Equipment is expensive. I got a Triton Rack, had it over a year and still don't know how to use the sampler. Just take a break if you need to ,adn stop basin your success on money. When you base your success on monetary value it will depress the fuck out of you cause in all reality, most of us in the Bay aint makin chips off this music like that. Do ya thing either way playboy....

I feel it aint about the money playa! Basically this is it in better words: Should I keep producing or should I quit? I have bought two new keyboards this month and was wondering if my investment is wise or should I not put so much into it? Anyhow all I asked is whether I should keep doing it or keep my day job LOL
Thanks Mr. Cleen for tha love & I got some questions about equipment to ask so holla at ya boi.........

i like those beats are tight mayn, the way i see it the longer you in the game the more money you spend on the game the more you learn in the game the better your game is gonna be...you only gonna go upwards and get better, get to where they wanna be overnight. You look at alot of successfull people and they allways say the main thing is to never give up, sounds like thats what you need to keep in mind, things are going too good for you music wise to just give it up.

sounds like you need some marketing help, all them beats gonna do you no good if no one listens to them. What are you doing to ensure that the right people are hearing these. If you expecting someone to knock on your door , u gonna wait a while. Come up with 5 ways possible to market your product, you got to hustle not just to make quality stuff but to put it in the ears of your buyers.

Im gonna be real with you playa, constructive criticizm is how I like advice. I feelin at least three of the beats you laid down. I think the hardest piece to the rap game as far as production stands to sound different. Challenge your skills from getting new sounds. Go to Kazza to hear instrumentals, buy sample CD's, get a sound modulator / sampler and start a library of sounds. Once youve fed your appetite with new meat you can dish out many flavors.

Remember though many of the classic hits have had beats that werent all that special. I would work toward getting some MC's to cross your path and they will usually shoot an idea off that will spark your music.

Stay up, dont sell your goods, and make um knock your flavor......

Real talk...Thanks for the advice. I have just picked up some new keyboards and am looking at a sound module of some kind & all those beats where done off a Roland 307.....but I am hungry for sounds mayne....I have been thinking bout a Nord lead 2? But I just fool around with theese boards but dunno what's hot and whats's not? And a triton is already used too much....So you got any good idea'z??????
