i hated the early stoppage. the odds didnt look good 4 mafredo but fuck it, that shit happens in boxing. I hope calzaghe gets to fight Taylor. I found it interesting that Manny didnt say shit about who would win that fight.

It was an early stoppage but the result would have been the same, hopefully he'll take Kessler's challenge and unify the titles. I also won $50 on Corrales getting his ass beat by Clottey today.

I agree. He's been in alot of wars and tonight was no exception. He took a bad beating and I hope he considers retirement. I don't think he can drain himself down to 140 where he would be a contender. If he stays at 147, I hate to say it but he'll be nothing more than just a showcase fighter like Gatti. If he can barely win a round against Clottey he would also get handled by guys like Margarito, Cintron, Mosely, Cotto, etc.

Good call... Corrales got whooped worse by this Clottey cat. I know Mayweather whooped him and stopped him but did you see the interview? Corrales had a busted mouth. That Clottey cat is bad...

^I knew Clottey had the skills and power to do it from his fight with Margarito, he showed me alot in that fight. The funny thing was I had a few people over and they were going for Corrales and didn't know who Clottey was and I was trying to put down money against all of them and only one took the bait..You're right though, Corrales' jaw was busted up pretty bad, I wouldn't be suprised if it's broke somewhere.

It's broke somewhere olright... He got heart though. I've never heard of this Clottey cat but he was very impressive. He's got some serious boxing skills man. How old is that cat? I think I may have to watch more of his fights.

He's 30 and only has two losses. One was to Margarito in which he swept the first four rounds easily(then supposedly hurt his hand) and proceeded to lose the rest of the fight by being less active and due to Margarito putting on the pressure. His other loss was to Baldomir, and in that fight he was winning easily and was then DQ'd due to headbutts. By watching the first four rounds of his fight with Margarito, it's easy to see he's one of the best welters out there if he can sustain that kind of attack and he did that with Corrales. If you can find that fight, you should give it a watch.

Anything can be said (he was losing, it would have happened eventually, etc.) but at the end of the day the fact remains, terrible stoppage. Way too early.

The ref has to have the ability to see if the other figher is injured/hurt or not. You can't just stop a fight due to unanswered punches.

That Manfredo stoppage was bullshit. If you watch the replay only three punches landed. Didn't matter though - Manfredo was getting his ass kicked.

The Corrales fight was pretty entertaining. Man, he took a fucking beating. It was tough to watch at times being a fan of his...he has a lot of heart but looks like he is done. Probably should retire - no matter what weight class he's in he just doesn't look like he has anything left. On a nother note, that is kind of bullshit that Clotty weighed in at 170. He gained 22/23 pounds in one day. That's a fuckin light Heavyweight.
