anyone work at safeway?

if so... how is it? i just got hired as a courtesy clerk, but so far ive heard nothing but bad shit about the job.

also, are there discounts on food?

I never worked at Safeway, but I figure at least 10% discount.. but you never know.

I know a few years back Safeway's union was gonna go on strike.

shit homey, regardless how bad you hear about a job, you got one, show that they made the right decision and work.

I say that bekuz i know some lazy ass people that complain about their job, when its not that bad and when people dont have jobs.

My brother worked there as a teenager, he enjoyed the job. As a courtesy clerk you'll be bagging groceries, collecting stray carts from the parking lot, wrapping flowers, answering customer questions, etc.

been workin there since 01 pretty good pay(20.34 per hour max for regular cashiers n stockers) n benefits, but sometimes dealing with customers makes u wanna reach back n crack them in the jaw....bagging sucks tho u gotta push carts in the hot ass sun clean up whenever there is a spill

He is a drifting cashier/checker, which means he works at several locations, usually only for a few months at a time. He gets paid almost $30 an hour. I think he is doing OK. Hell, he makes more than ME, and im in IT.

yeah but how soon in the 15 years did he make the 30? in the trade that i am trained in, it'll only take me 3 years or less to make around 40 an hour.
