With the success of 50 Cents album, do you think that there will be a resurgence in "Gangsta" rap? Does this mean that the JaRule/Ashanti collabs will fade out and we'll start to see hard ass raps on the mainstream level again?

Man i hope we get labels to stop tryin to bite other labels ideas and call them there own.
Trill. I hope that it is the rebirth in originality. I mean, in terms of 50 Cent's depth on his singles, its still a lot of the same stuff other artists talk about, but its a new flow, a new sound. Thats what the radio needs. I think if new sound comes, then new concepts will follow.

LoL Sticky you obviously havnt listened to his stuff more carefully.. Now this SFC clubz were playin Tupac 6 timez a day 'n he was a hardcore gangsta.. I've been listenin to 50 Centz new CD and he has some hard lyricz on his more better songz then "Wangsta" + "In Da Club" or whatever.. They jus aint popular cuz da industry got em fake a$$ people on Ja Rule style of stuff.. Hopefully 50 Cent Breedz more Gangsta Style rap or atleast he could quit makin the Fake style of rap he has made (very little i think he jus made those to get known a lil)

I wasn't necessarily implying that 50 is hardcore. I was merely wondering if you all thought this could influence a more hardcore movement in the mainstream.....I sure as fuck hope it changes the game and this R&B style rap shit ceases or is minimized....

50 even says hes no gansgta so all he doin is spittin shyt from the streets... been ther done that typa shyt.. and lets git real... aint no return of hardcore shyt like NWA.. 50 is just rhymin, simplistic yet appealin... 50 was rippin 5 years ago.. but nobody was lookin... that DUET rap shyt will be goin on for a loing time.. its the new niche in hiphop, a way to smooth over the thug appeal thats gittin hella flack since pac and biggie died.

Is JV that dude I heard preaching about AIDS and Africa and all that this morning?

What exactly did he say about 50? Can someone post that up?

50's definitely a gangsta.... He might not be in a gang like the crips or bloods style, but hes a G.... If you here his flow's, and you a gangsta, you definitely gonna notice hes a G for the way of his thinking....... He's the #1 selling artist in the fuckin country....... He sold 872,000 in just 4 days... Thats record breaking in rap.... The man is doing his thang, and any artist in the world would switch spots with him right now.... He's definitely not just an ok rapper........
