The former Bad Boy MC confessed to a murder, which took place in the early 90s during a robbery attempt.<\/p>\n
Speaking after being given a 15 year sentence, G. Dep said that there was also a sense of relief in being given time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was happy,\u201d he said. \u201cIt sounds crazy to say you were happy about getting a fifteen-to-life sentence, but I was. It just seemed to me like the end of a nightmare. I was living in 1993 for seventeen years…It wasn\u2019t something I was going through periodically; it was something that was like a knot at all times. Sometimes I didn\u2019t even want to walk with my head up. I just wanted to look down. If I stood up, I felt funny, like, \u2018Who am I to be looking up?\u2019?\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, “I don\u2019t know how me being incarcerated — I can\u2019t measure how much it makes anything any better. But I just know what I had to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
