LAS VEGAS – Yoshihiro Akiyama, Alan Belcher, Dan Henderson and Tom Lawlor each earned record $100,000 "fight night" bonuses for their performances at the historic UFC 100 event.

UFC 100 took place Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and aired live on pay-per-view. The astounding bonus amounts amounts eclipsed the $70,000 awards issued at UFC 97 in April.

The UFC announced the bonuses at the UFC 100 post-fight press conference and were confirmed by MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

While there were at least three contests that were more-anticipated than the main card's first bout, middleweights Yoshihiro Akiyama and Alan Belcher still delivered as much as action as any two fighters on the card. The back-and-forth affair that delivered a split-decision result that is sure to be hotly debated also earned each fighter a bonus check as the evening's "Fight of the Night."

Henderson avoided the conventional wisdom that stated wrestling was his easiest path to victory by instead choosing to stand and trade with middleweight Michael Bisping. While his British counterpart avoided several early blows, Henderson continued to pursue in an attempt to land a powerful right hand. That moment came in the second round, and a single blow left Bisping unconscious on the floor.

A second blow followed to a defenseless Bisping, but Henderson had already earned the win and the evening's "Knockout of the Night."

With no submission wins on the evening's main card, the organization was forced to turn to the preliminary card for UFC 100's "Submission of the Night." While Tom Lawlor, Shannon Gugerty and Jon Jones all earned guillotine-choke wins in the evening's first four bouts, it was "The Filthy Mauler" – who latched on to an arm-in guillotine choke as he was driven to the floor and quickly choked C.B. Dollaway unconscious – who earned the significant additional income.
