So the 3 phases of a fight, Striking, Grapling and Ground, what style would you chose for all 3?

For example I would pick

Muay Thai for Striking phase

Judo for Takedowns/Grapling

Brazillian Jiu Jitsu for Grapling/Ground

I think this is the best mix right here, anyone else got an opinion?

id also take muay thai and bjj but i would take wrestling instead of judo. helps you take people down and also it keeps you from being taken down.

There isn't much variety. Pretty much 90% of all MMA fighters do boxing, muay thai, wrestling and bjj. Boxing and wrestling is becoming the best combo imo. Almost everyone has sick sub defense nowadays so bjj is still important, but mainly it's defensive aspect.

imo judo is cool, but if you're going to go that route you're better off doing sambo. Judo relies way too much on the gi.

Interesting thoughts. I see alot of MMA fighters try and develop a sort of hybrid with the styles they learnt
