Updated Percy Harvin story with a few new details
Posted by Bob Condotta
Here’s our updated story on the Percy Harvin trade which includes a few new details.

A couple that stand out:

— A source told the Times that Harvin and Doug Baldwin got into an altercation the final week of the preseason, before the Seahawks played at Oakland. Harvin then missed two practices and did not travel to the game at Oakland for what the team said was a “personal matter.” Both Baldwin and Harvin had what the team said were “excused absences” for a practice on Aug. 26.

— Another league source said that what might have been a final straw came Sunday when Harvin apparently balked at being put back in the game in the fourth quarter of a 30-23 loss to Dallas.

— Also, there won’t be a statement from the team tonight as that will not come until the Jets announce the trade. That apparently won’t happen tonight. But it doesn’t mean anything other than just that the paperwork has yet to be completed, apparently. Expect everything to be finalized by 1 p.m. Seattle time Saturday. That’s the deadline for the move to be made and allow Seattle to add a player in time for Sunday’s game at St. Louis.
