Those are beats i made years ago man. Plus there just myspace beats. Myspace aint shit.There's a big difference with the shit i will submitting here in about 6 months. I dont know what people look for when they judge shit in contests. But from beat contests i've watched in the past, it seems judges and voters like that switchin up variety chorus bridge adding shit. If it aint about that, then i'll get farther then the 1st 2nd round. Let me hear ur shit. Lets see what u got

i'm in japan right now. I'll be in Vegas when i get out of the gay ass military in Feb 09. I'd be glad help u out. I know a couple of fruity loops tricks. There alot of shit about that program people have to know about. On FL7 they just installed a built-in sampler. So now u can sample any sound within the program itself instead of having some outside program to do it, and u can use a midi keyboard and play any sound and sample with all the keys and shit. But this is prolly old news, i just found out how to do it on my own. And japanese hip hop sucks.
I always understood what you were saying, basically saying everything was quantized, rather than sounding naturally played, also not much variation. I can fix that though, my shit is sounding a lot better. I'm also exploring compression a lot more now (since I'm barely figuring the ins and outs of it), so my shit sounds more tightly glued together and not all spread out jumping around like hi-hats jumping out. Basically, I'm just getting better at mixing my shit and with the help of compression, my shit is sounding a lot better. Kicks sounding tigher, rounder, deeper, snares/claps poppin,etc... Just a better overall sound. And as far as mixing it up more with variations in the composition itself, that's just because I'm lazy as fuck. There's really no point to post up a beat in a complete song layout format if no one is rapping on it.
But as far as that video goes, that shit just sounds corny. The beat is cool, but the flow is silly.

Do yourself a favor and forget about compression. If you have the good sounds and the beat is knockin dont squash it.. almost every beat my homie did had zero effects ( unless on synth the patch used one..and his shit knocks..platinum plaques and gold singles...so maybe when mixing down with vocals a little, its easier to add later.
