Yeah yeah...I know. I am a huge fan of the Alien franchise, even though I hate the Alien vs. Predator movies, and was disappointed by the first Prometheus movie. I was so hyped for it too. A movie I just wanted to love, but just couldn't. Still, I have hopes for the second part. :ermm:

The second in a planned trilogy is finally gearing up for production…

TheWrap reports some exciting news Monday evening as 20th Century Fox has tapped veteran scribe Michael Green – who worked with Ridley Scott on a new Blade Runner – to rewrite Prometheus 2, originally penned by Jack Paglen (Transcendence).

Shooting is scheduled to begin this fall with a release of March 2016 in the cards. It currently doesn’t have an official title.

Prometheus served as an ‘unofficial’ prequel to Scott’s seminal 1979 sci-fi movie Alien, and the sequel that Green will write aims to be much more “alien-y” and in line with the terrifying tone of past films in the franchise, says the site.

Additionally, the sequel is expected to feature multiple ‘David’ androids, which means there will be more than one Michael Fassbender on screen at the same time, according to an individual familiar with the project.

I feel you, but if you think about it the original Alien is from 1979.

I swear since the Star Wars prequels (which were not the greatest) Hollywood has been banking on making their money on this kind of shit. At the end of the day, most of these prequels are story lines / movies I can do without.

If the movie is a classic already I don't think the majority of people really give a shit what happened prior to how it all came about. For the most part anyway. These prequels are a dying breed. And I expect this to be a dead horse / straight to Blu-Ray movie. If not, it'll fail miserably at the box office.

All we need now is a Jaws Prequel! When Jaws was a a goldfish and what made him start eating people at Amity Island SMFH.

You cannot compare Alien to Jaws. Alien had a lot of stuff in it that was never explained, so there is some interest from fans to find out about the crashed space ship, the engineers, about aliens as a species itself, etc.! There is a lot of room to write some good fuckin movies. Alien is like a horror movie without the backstory.

I wasn't comparing, Breh. It was simply an example of how far fetched these movies can go. And the whole "prequel" phase that everybody feeds into now a days. In my book, if it was a good / great movie 35 years ago, leave it the fuck alone. It's like taking a drawing that's perfect & trying to add to it and end up ruining it IMO.

Prequels are just like sequels in a sense. Sometimes it's better had they left the original movies stand on they're own.

Prometheus 2 now titled Alien: Paradise Lost

Prometheus 2 Title Revealed as 'Alien: Paradise Lost' | Collider

This is not a good sign already.
Ridley Scott fucking sucks now that he's all into religion. Yeah, the religious messages in Prometheus was gay, looks like this will go further into that:

Slightly less obvious, except to the learned among you, is the nod to John Milton’s epic poem, “Paradise Lost,” which tells of the Biblical Fall of Man. The tale of Satan’s temptation of Adam and Eve, and God’s resulting expulsion of the duo from the Garden of Eden is certainly rich territory for Scott to mine when it comes to very mortal humans seeking to learn the secrets of the Engineers. Scott himself confirmed that the sequel will indeed explore the reasoning behind the alien creatures’ “evil biology” and what caused them to create such monsters. Another question that begs to be asked in light of the new title is … what did humanity do to deserve such cruelty?

Thank Cod he's not directing Blade Runner 2, probably would make the androids Catholic

I mean people bitched moaned and complained non stop when there wasn't enough Alien in Prometheus. Now people are getting Alien in the sequel and it's still somehow a bad thing? lol People can't be pleased.

I like the fact this movie is a set up for Neill Blomkamp's Alien movie and will actually bridge Prometheus with Alien.

I was part of the "theres an Alien tie in but then it deviates hard to the right" camp

I did not like all the they made us, stupid stars and ancestors rubbish.
However the part at the end where the two Aliens fight was great.

They could have just skipped to that part, the rest was long and boring.
Also the love scenes were horrific. I fell asleep in the theater.
Good thing I was awake for the ending at least, it was the only good part
of this sleep fest.

The first Aliens was a millions time better than this rubbish!
