Anyone watching this show on Netflix??? Absolutely top notch show. Production, acting, the setting , etc, everything is extremely well done. If you like Boardwalk Empire you'll love this.

It stars Irish actor Cillian Murphy who is brilliant as the crime boss, he was in Inception, 28 Days Later and The Wind that Shakes the Barley.

This show is hella slept on.

What's great about this era is it takes place shortly after WWI, so many of the guys have came back from fighting in France and are deeply mentally scared. The show does a good job showing us how bad it was for those that served and came back (characters clearly suffering from PTSD, have terrible nightmares, etc). Some use opium to ease their pain (as well as alcohol of course). . Plus, the Communist movement and labor strikes/unions also play a big role in the show as again this is set in 1919 only a couple years after the Oct Revolution which of course spread accross Europe. Winston Churchill also has a role as he was head of Munitions at the time (part of the storyline). Lots of cool characters like Irish Gypsies, etc. Anyways, it's a really interesting time period, things were obviously very fragile and a rough time to live.

thats a really lame title but i'll check it out
Why? it's the real name:

Peaky Blinders - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Peaky Blinders were a criminal gang based in Birmingham, England, in the late 19th century and, to a lesser extent, in the early 20th century. They were one of the urban youth gangs in the era, which were among the earliest of modern street subcultures. According to Carl Chinn, the name is popularly said to derive from the practice of stitching razor blades into the front of their flat caps, which could then be used as weapons.

Tom Hardy is in Season 2.

My little advice is that some of the characters have really thick accents, especially since it's supposed to be a 1920's accents and slang. So On netflix they have subtitles which you might want to turn on if you find some of the dialog difficult to fully understand.
I'd actually be suprised if americans liked this, as you guys can't understand any other accent aside from MMMURUKIAN

A coworker told me about this show but I forgot the title. Binged through season one and now I'm on season 2. It takes place 2 years later but Finn looked like he aged 7 years lol. Great show, but I do need the subtitles sometimes. Interested to see how Tom Hardy's character turns out.

I was gonna create a thread last week not realizing you guys had one. This show is just great. I ran through the 3 seasons in a few days. Then again each season is only 6 episodes. Arthur Fuckin' Shelby is a mad man haha.

I'm just waiting for Tom Hardy to go ape shit and whoop someone's ass
