True Detective Season 2 Location And Plot Details

In an interview on The Playlist's podcast, series creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto dropped a new True Detective Season 2 news, including the threat of even more baddies than in the first season, and an additional lead.

"Right now, we're working with three leads. It takes place in California. Not Los Angeles, but some of the lesser known venues of California and we're going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambience of the place, much like we did with season one."

Earlier this year it was revealed to Hitfix that the plot would center around, "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system," which sounds grand.

Now that we know it's in California (not LA) how does that match up with this "transportation system?" The Louisiana setting played such huge role in the first season, there's got to be a specific reason why the creators picked Cali

I really don't give a fuck where it's based at I just want some new True Detective! But then again I can't really say that cuz they could fuck it all up if they don't pick the right place.

Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell confirmed.

Now, I don't mind Vaughn. He does a lot of shitty stupid movies, but I remember him playing a dark character in Norman Bates, and he was good. Collin Farrell though? Nah, he's a douchebag.

Gave the 1st season another shot after only watching 2 episodes when they first aired and I'm glad I did. It shits on season 2 and the finale was fuckin intense. They probably couldve trimmed an episode's worth of fat - mainly the whole "I'M TEARIN MAH FAMILY APART WITH THIS JOB" subplot w/ Woody's character but overall a great season. 9/10
