Bad acting (mainly from Ben Afleck) and a bad storyline. I'm sure the book did really well among man-hating-women, but the movie sure sucked. It's like a throw away script of one of John Grisham's legal thrillers. Everyone in the theater said "That's it?!?" when the movie ended.

Don't believe the hype, watch this for free online.

I thought this was one of the best movies I've seen since End of Watch. It definitely felt like a David Fincher film and Ben Affleck's mumbling and talking way too quiet was in this movie quite a bit but I thought it was great.

The book is way better than the movie, and not in a man-hating-woman kinda way. The emotion in the book was crucial to the storyline and it didn't transfer to film well at all.
