Regardless, this is a good fight for boxing fans. Algieri won, is a champ, and is fighting a top dog. That's how it's supposed to be. Actually, from what Al Haymon thinks, it should be Algieri vs Salka. That's what a lot of us are accustomed to. Not who deserves a shot but who sells and what the catchweight conditions are. Algieri is moving up in weight but is a champ and will probably rehydrate at the same wait come fight night. Shit, probably more than Manny!

I know style matchups but I also guage talent. Algeri isnt no where near as good as Khan or even Alexander for that matter. I think Maidana destroys him. If you think otherwise thats fine. Im sure we wont ever see the two fight anyway. Got Em!!

And that's the problem. We won't see them fight. I do agree with you that Ruslan won, but they gave the win to Algieri and he did hang in there real tough with him too. Regardless, Manny always fights fighters with high skill levels so whether it was Ruslan, the most feared welterweight who sends champs to the hospital, or Algieri, who is a nutritionist with a high intelligence in the ring and would probably beat anyone in GBP, that's who Manny was going to face. And Manny makes them look like fools, just like Floyd makehis opponents look like fools. That's why no matter who they face there will be heavy criticism from the boxing world. We still want to see them two fight.

I'll agree and disagree. I disagree about Algeri's talent. To me It's clear he's a talented boxer, otherwise Ruslan would have destroyed him. I agree It's pointless debate being that Chino and him will likely never fight.

Regardless, I think he's going to be a tricky opponent for Pacquiao to deal with. People used to say all Pacquiao fights is come forward brawlers that suits his style, well here is a tall, rangy boxer that uses a lot of movement and a good jab. Who was the last fighter like that Pacquiao fought? You'd have to go back years.

Not many, expect really low PPV numbers like 250k. That's why this fight is in Macau because the Casino there pays craaazy amounts of cash so they make up for poor PPV buys

I think Manny was juicin' because he didn't take the test when the offer was on the table. That meant he was hiding something to me. Who turns down a fight over a teaspoon of blood? I had blood taken recently (found out I'm pre-diabetic) and when I left I felt no different. They took a whole vile and I didn't feel dizzy or nothing.

Now that he's clean he's not knocking nobody out and even got knocked out himself. Remember, he dropped Marquez hella times in their previous fight, and now he can't knock him down anymore.
I'm gonna keep it 100% real. I have to go in because I had blood in my urine. They have to stick some shit up my dick and, from what I've been told, the process of checking your prostate, kidneys and bladder HURTS. I have to do all this shit and I'm not gettin paid but this muthafucka can't let them stick a tiny needle in his arm for $40 million or whatever it was?

Fuck out of here.

What they say about you Tony? You gotta change your diet or something?

Let's look at this: Rusalan drops Bradley 3xs (I'm guessing)...Bradley goes 2 full fights with Manny an not once did he fall or even look like he was remotely going to be stopped...take in consideration Manny's work rate is higher than Prov's. Algeri gets dropped by Rasaln 2xs manages to right himself and win the fight. Pacq's power has clearly gone away (I didn't say KO power) but age has NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS OCCURRENCE...Algeri might outbox Pacq now that Manny no longer takes PEDS. Will there be RBT for this fight?

Lol how can say age has nothing to do with it? Look at my sig, watch it closely. Look at the speed and movement. That's the big difference. Also, if Bradley fought Pacquiao the same way he fought Ruslan (like a complete moron) I'm sure he would have took some more lumps and bruises. Besides, Ruslan is a powerful, clubbing puncher. Everyone he's fought he's hurt. Different kind of fighter.

Check it...Pacquaio has the same speed NOW as he has had THEN...he has the same STRENGTH...the difference is he was using PEDS which allow you to train longer, more vigorous recover faster thus giving you an optimal result come fight day. Pacquiao launched deliberating shots throughout a fight for 12 round as other fighters ebbed downward...the better your conditioning it prepares you to take a shot...he was walking through everything...now he can't even fade 140 lbs let alone 147 lbs fighters...his decline is glaring in 2 categories: 1 power 2 stamina...his speed is relatively the same...with speed you generate power. His punching technique (balance and delivery) is the same...now Pacquaio is more comparable to the Chris Algeris, Rioses, Bradleys, Crawfords, Mickey Garcias of the world...and he can't even fade them he looks more like a fly buzzing around annoying them with pepper shots...there was a reason he avoided RBT...and that is the reason you see him at a dramatically different stage now along with age. But if it were just age ALONE...he would still be clubbing fighters at 147 and punishing them...because he still has the speed, balance technique to deliver the blows. Why isn't he fighting Amir Khan who is openly available and a much BIGGER NAME than Algeri...or Broner who has talked about fighting Pac as he stated on youtube. After all if you beat Lil Floyd...Big Bro will come after you.

If I were Pacquiao's adviser I would tell him publicly challenge Adrian Broner...goad him into fight fuck this Chris Algeri shit...Broner would jump through hoops trying to get at Pac before Floyd...and it would create 1 million PPV buys with Broner's big mouth alone...plus Floyd would have to be on the 24/7 build up also ringside at the actual fight...and Arum could exploit that ALL DAY/ MONTH LONG...Chris Algeri ah fuckin GNC worker...SMFH. But I'll still watch.

Fight Amir Khan...great story there too...I think Khan would dig off in Pac...but if Pacquaio beats Amir then that brings other positive outcomes for Manny in that Amir beat Maidana who people say is one of the top welterweights Manny can't deal with...well you just beat the man who dropped Chino (even though that was at 140 lbs) but WAAAAAY BETTER than Chris Algeri. Or give Marquez his 50/50 split fuck it.

just stop. Everything you're saying is speculation. Broner hasn't ever been on a PPV as a main event draw. Broner sucked in his last 2 fights, in his last fight he sucked against a dude that only hardcore fight fans can name. Algieri just beat one of the absolute beasts of the fight game and has a title to show for it. I don't like that they are fighting at 147 but it is what it is.

Pacquiao has been in a ton of wars and I'm honestly surprised he's still fighting. He just spanked one of the top p4p fighters in the world. You're looking way too much into this. There aren't a lot of viable options out there for him at the moment. You want him to fight someone else, but nearly all the guys we'd like him to fight are with Al Haymon which damn near kills the chance of the fight happening.

I agree with everything you are saying...BUT...Pacquaio and Arum put themselves in this dumb ass position...Arum for some how getting into a promo war where his prized client is suffering for it competion wise...and Pacquaio for resigning with Top Rank knowing full well the limitations he has ahead of him with Bobs stable. Algeri may have beat Raslan...but this is a business and Amir Khan at 147 lbs or Broner at 147 lbs is a WAAAY bigger fight than Chris Algeri...Arum could have barked out their names like he does Floyd but guess what...he didn't because they would have JUMPED AT THAT PAYDAY and there is nothing Al Hayon could have done but to make the fight for his client...is Broner or Khan tied to Showtime...I don't think so?

Really man? Look at my sig again. Look at the movement. Now watch the Rios and Bradley fight. Did you see any of that movement and explosiveness? It's not there because it's not the same.

Look at the combo's, the speed:

The footwork & movement.

It's just not the same. You can't honestly say that age hasn't affected his game.

Pacquiao is 35 years old with 63 fights under his belt, a pro since he was 15 years old. He is the same age when Roy Jones got KO'd and just wasn't the same athletic freak that he was years prior. Age has caught up with Pacquiao and it's obvious.

And even Floyd. Look at Floyd's fight with Maidana and Cotto. Where is the movement? it's not there. Floyd is mostly all upper body defense now. Compare that to when Floyd was younger and used all of the ring, was faster, threw more combinations. Totally different. There is no way in hell a prime Floyd would struggle with a guy like Maidana. No way. The truth is he's a 36/37 years old aging fighter.

I mean look at this, when was the last time you seen Floyd do this kind of work?

Floyd is all 1 and 2 punches at a time now. He's aged/slowed down a lot.

The difference obviously is Floyd however is he is a technically sound fighter, flawless nearly, and defensive minded. So he'll last longer, similar to Bernard Hopkins in that sense. Whereas with Pacquiao and Roy Jones, they relied more on their athletic and natural gifts of talent (i.e speed, movement, explosiveness). When age caught up with them, they don't have the fundamentals to fall back on like Mayweather and Bernard Hopkins.

Bernard Hopkins/Roy Jones and Mayweather/Pacquiao are actually great comparisons. Hopkins out lasted Jones and James Toney because of his health and his fundamentals, just as Floyd will outlast Pacquiao.

To say age is not a factor is just plain ignorance.

Why isn't he fighting Amir Khan who is openly available and a much BIGGER NAME than Algeri...
Top Rank, Roach, Pacquiao actually wanted Amir Khan. He was the name they wanted (after Marquez). But it appears Khan is with Al Haymon now and they are going another route on Showtime. From information today it doesn't appear Khan has a contract with Golden Boy.

yeah they are. If you've noticed, no Al Haymon fighters are not fighting on HBO. The only occasions have been purse bids ordered by a sanctioning body (like the WBC) and Top Rank or whomever outbid Al Haymon's fighters promoter (those two cases being Golden Boy).

Unfortunately right now, while Top Rank and Golden Boy have made up, Al Haymon and Top Rank have not and are not doing business together whatsoever.

Floyd doesn't do that anymore because opponent selection, and their size. I think he would tee off on guys that he wasn't afraid of. I think he was actually a little bigger than Gatti, when was the last time he could really say that?

I've said for a long time that Floyd likely would've retired as one of the top 10 fighters ever if he never moved up to 147, as odd that that sounds. He was dominant against bigger guys, but nothing like he would've been. In a lot of ways, it would've been better for his legacy if he wasn't a huge star. No one in this era would've touched him at 140 or less. Even if you count the Castillo fight, he murked him in the rematch.

But I guess you could argue that moving up was good for his career other than monetarily. Bigger guys throw less punches. Another reason why I think he avoided Margarito and Pacquiao. As Hatton kinda showed, and Maidana definitely showed, Floyd handcuffs himself at times when a guy throws a lot of (hard) punches.

That is only one gif of many possible examples (deigo corrales was much bigger than Floyd). The point is to watch a younger Mayweather and tell me he is exactly the same at age 36/37. He's not. That's just life. No one can fight like they are in their 20's/early 30's forever.

Robert Guerrero was a walking punching bag and Floyd really only threw 1-2 punches at a time. He could have treated Guerrero like Gatti and I'm sure he would have if he was younger. Same goes for Maidana. There was hardly any movement (with his legs) from Floyd. He stood on the ropes and just used his upper body defense. Now watch a similar fighter, Baldimor (limited skills, come forward style) and watch Floyd dance around him, stick & move, for 12 rounds. Floyd can say he's just giving the fans what we want all day long but the truth is that's age, man. He's getting older and it's starting to show (again, no way a prime Floyd struggles with Maidana).

Some of that is from fighting bigger guys I agree, moreso for Pacquiao however. Floyd has been at 147 for a ver long time now, his body frame is better suited for welterweight than Pacquiao. Pacquiao truthfully doesn't belong at 147, 135/140 was always going to be the ideal weight classes for him based on his size and style.

I said..."age" and Pacquaio not being on "PEDS" has resulted in what you are seeing now from him as far as him not being able to deliver powerful shots like he use to for 12 rounds throwing over 900 shots looking like a buzz saw. His speed has declined but the guy is still fast enough to deliver a quick punch (which should result into a powerful punch)...age will take away his stamina and that will result in a shorter time he operates at an optimal output of 600 plus punches...so an aging fighter compensates by throwing less punches but his POWER should still be there...Pacquiao's power has disappeared accept for the moment in time he was busting up Marquez...then that got stopped abruptly lol. But in 24 rounds with Bradley, 12 rounds with Rios and only maybe 2 1/2 rounds out of 18 rounds combined rounds in Pac/ Marq 3&4 has he displayed any power. Mayweather still punches with the same effect as he always has...might not throw as much because of age but his shots are STILL the SAME...checkout when he started popping Canelo and Guerror...same punching power that was hitting Corrales, Gatti, Hatton and De La Hoya. The shit that Manny was busting up Cotto and Margarito with are not the same as what Bradley and Rios were getting hit with...BIG DIFFERNCE.
