If maidana wins it will be because he weighs in @ 145, jabs and attacks the body early. He MUST take a page out of Cotto's book and maintain distance when he has floyd on the ropes, or else cutting off the ring will be in vein when floyd hugs and the ref breaks the fight. Do these things and Floyd walks out losing.

The only way chino wins is if he doesn't gas out like he did in the first fight. Plain and simple...
I see ur hopeful.

Maidana will not win this fight in any form or fashion. Floyd will pull off a very decisive lopsided victory or chino fouls himself out of the fight. And all of us who considered how the possibilities of a Maidana victory will feel dumb for even hypothesizing let alone investing emotion into this fight.

Simply put it was a bitch move for Floyd to make Maidana change different model gloves 24 hours before the fight. You box your entire life with a certain kind of glove then the day before the biggest fight of your life your forced to wear a more padded glove you've never fought with and tell me it makes no different. Sure it does.

For this fight, I don't know what's in the contract, it hasn't been revealed, they keep talking about gloves so I'm sure it states plainly Chino cant wear Mexican style gloves so at least he can train with them.
Lol...gloves don't make that much of a difference LOL!!!

"Boxed with a certain type of glove your entire life."

HHHAAAAAHAHAHA...you killin me that one. Mayweather is the A-side he can do whatever he wants...just like Oscar did to Floyd...but the difference is Jr went into that fight and handled his business...all this glove talk is doing is putting doubt into Chino's head about how well he is going to perform...concentrate on landing clean shots and disrupting Floyd's offense...keep Floyd on the defensive side of the fight...basically like football keep the opposing offense on the bench so they can't score...keep Floyd busy so he can't find room to score. I'm wondering now...have you EVER called Manny a pussy for ANYTHING he has done?

Why? Canelo doesnt deserve a rematch. He didnnt look good against Lara. He needs to give Lara a rematch just like Floyd gave Chino a rematch. Dont be scurred. Got Em!!
You know what...even though I think Canelo won that fight against Lara...he needs to do a rematch or move to Cotto. But it seems to me he is doing what Oscar use to do in the past if a fight was close there were no rematches with the Golden Boy: Whitaker, Quarte, and Trinidad didn't get a second chance...only Mosley...Canelo lost to Trout in my opinion but Austin ain't gettin no rematch.

Gloves do make a difference and you should know that. Floyd only fights with a specific kind of glove for his hands, if they didn't matter he would fight with different models.

Listen, this is pretty simple. Of course Floyd is the A side and gets to decide certain things. That's all fine and dandy, as long as its in the contract. There was nothing in the first fight contract that stated Chino couldn't wear certain gloves. That is my issue. It was a bitch move to force him to change models 24 hours prior. Now, in this fight, if It's in the contract, then That's fine because that would mean Chino agreed and That's his decision.

Technically your right about contractual agreements and honoring the bottom line...but when it's all said and done as the B-side his trainer Garcia shouldn't get sucked into to talking about gloves...it gives the impression that they are handicapped and can only operate under favorable conditions...the trainer doesn't have 100% faith in the training program and the fighter. That's not good when your dealing with "mental sharks" like the Mayweather's who start to hone in on your weaknesses...Canelo for example: Ellerbie quote, "It was his camp that said they would fight us at 150 lb...the idiots would have gotten the fight anyway at 154 lb...we just took advantage of their stupidity." Once that statement got back to #team Canelo they were HEATED...and the game was on and over. They need to drop this glove issue...

All that other stuff is just promotion or hype or whatever. Gets people talking.

If Canelo was heated he certainly didn't fight like he was angry. Seemed content going the distance. Not much effort fro Nelo in that fight.

Wow the WBC approved it. I guess the son of Jose Sulaiman is just as bad as his father.

Mayweather Approved By WBC To Defend 147/154 Belts

By Salvador Rodriguez

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman has approved*a request by Floyd Mayweather Jr. to defend both of his WBC titles, at welterweight and junior middleweight, against Marcos Maidana on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather also holds the WBA crown at 147 and 154.

Sulaiman compares*Mayweather's historic*request to Sugar Ray Leonard's fight with Donnie Lalonde in November of 1988, when the WBC super middleweight and light heavyweight titles were both*at stake in the same fight.

"It is an important historic event, because it gives recognition to a great champion like Mayweather, and at the time [in 1998 that*recognition] was given to Sugar Ray Leonard. There are situations in which you should have that flexibility*where you don't disrupt the*development of fighters. There*is currently no*mandatory challenger at welterweight and super welterweight, no boxer is getting hurt [in this move]. It's something that places Mayweather in a very exclusive group*in boxing history. His*loyalty to the organization has been exemplary and*this is also*a way to show our loyalty to him," Sulaiman said.

I'll be glad when he retires.
So the lineal 154 pounder is a welterweight and the lineal 160 pounder is a junior middleweight. Maybe if Cotto and Floyd rematch, it can be for the WBC 147, WBC 154 and WBC 160 pound titles! Truly historic!

And of course if Maidana were to win, he would become the lineal 154 pound champ without ever fighting above 147! WBC is awesome!

Not true. The lineal title isn't attached to a belt. Maidana may win the WBC's title, which is fucking ridiculous, but he won't be the lineal champion.
Why not? Weren't Floyd and Canelo #1 and #2 when the fought? I guess you can say Floyd is still lineal champ if he lost while others would disagree. It would be pretty messy.

They definitely were. What I meant was that the lineal championship doesn't necessarily follow a championship, in this case the WBC, and it sure doesn't follow ridiculous sanctioning body stipulations.

Maidana would win the WBC's title, but Floyd would remain lineal 154lb champion because he hasn't lost a fight at the weight and hasn't officially vacated the weight class.

It would be like if the WBC stripped Floyd for not defending or fighting a mandatory. That wouldn't strip him of lineage.

Remember when Pacquiao was made mandatory to Mayweather's WBC belt and Floyd said he would drop the title because belts just collect dust? Wonder why the 154 belt is so important to him now since he doesn't fight there rarely. Unless he's planning on a Canelo rematch? Can't see him fighting anyone else at 154 (Lara, Kirkland, Angulo, Andrade, etc., none make much sense).

I'm surprised they didn't make this a special event to have Mayweather defend every belt they offer for the official WBC Pound For Pound Championship of the World!
