Canelo Alvarez will receive $1.5million for his headlining bout against Erislandy Lara, though he*can expect to earn substantially more based on the revenue generated by the PPV. While Lara will make a career high $1million, again he will get a cut of the PPV pie.
*
Abner Mares returns from his shocking first round knockout last August against Puerto Rican Jonathan Oquendo in a ten-round featherweight attraction. Mares purse is $400,000 while Oquendo will be paid $50,000.
*
Johan Perez and Mauricio Herrera meet at junior welterweight for Perez WBA “Interim” title, the champion makes $100,000, while Herrera makes $125,000.
*
In an interesting crossroads junior lightweight match up Juanma Lopez will make $125,000, while Mexico’s Francisco Vargas pockets $75,000.
*
Though the Tomoki Kameda vs. Pungluang Sor Singyu WBO bantamweight title fight isn’t part of the PPV, it will take place on Showtime Extreme. Kameda’s fee is $60,000, while the Thai challenger trousers $40,000.

I missed the weigh ins live and the replay. Anything good or interesting happen? They both look like in great shape from that picture but any problems?

As always, the workrate is going to be an issue for Lara I think. I keep seeing people on twitter and ESPN talking about Canelo's pressure breaking him down. That's now how he fights. I think the biggest danger that Canelo presents to Lara is that he can box from range with power, and he's a good counter puncher with explosiveness. AND, he's a good fighter on the inside. It's going to force Lara to initiate more offense than he'd like to IMO.

But I'm leaning towards Lara based on skill and counterpunching. Canelo's performances in the 7-10th rounds haven't inspired a lot of confidence in his last few fights, and his stamina is always in question.

His work rate does drop, but usually his opponent doesn't connect well either so he's straight. His power punches allow the judges to favor Canelo even when his work rate drops.

Lol Jeff Lacy got beat up so bad he's saying the guy who knocked him out was not the same guy at the weigh in! He's saying since he's from Cuba there is no way to know if he has a twin brother or older brother that fought Lacy instead! Lmao

There's actually people agreeing with him in the comments which is ridiculous in itself. It's always worrying when you see a guy coming talking like that and still signing on to get fights.

naner12 @naner12

did you know the almighty* Ali Raymi is fighting this thursday? Against another undefeated fighter - Prince Maz. This will make 21 undefeated fighters in a row.

For those that don't know. Raymi is 20-0 (20 KO's). Everyone of his opponents were undefeated. Every fight in Yemen. And every fight Raymi knocked out his opponent in the 1st round. He's never even seen round 2. He is the 105 pound Tye Fields mixed with Tyrone Brunson on steroids, i.e he's godly.

He is a god amongst men, everyone needs to bowdown to his greatness.

He threw like 7,000 body punches with the force of Thor in each, his opponent must have had an iron body for withstanding that kind of punishment.

He was supposed to have fought Dutch Boy Gym but apparently there were problems. Sure, Dutch Boy hasn't fought since 2002 but still, he was like 45-0. Would have been epic!

Fucking 2-0 now you have my looking shit up about this guy.

What boxers in the 105 lb division would you like to fight in the near future? Would you consider fighting outside Yemen?

I obviously prefer undefeated fighters, but I need Zhong’s WBC Green belt, also the WBO ranks me at #12 so I can fight Merlito Sabillo. ALA Boxing are boxing experts, so if they think Merlito Sabillo can survive my power they will give me a title shot. As I know I will never ever win a decision, so my mission is knockout. I train for eternal warfare. I harass boxing and martial arts gyms and go spar by force with bigger guys. I always stay in the kill zone and enforce war. It’s always my foes who back up regardless of how big or strong they are. Body punching is an art that very few boxers fully understand, every punch I throw is stronger than the punch that KOed De La Hoya. I will fight anywhere. It’s all the same I only can win by KO in Yemen or outside of Yemen.
I think this guy may be a better body puncher than Mike McCallum.

Check out these gems:

“I will KO them all WBC, WBA, IBF & WBO, its all jokes and games. Until they get in the ring and feel the punches.”

“Pick any undefeated fighter you think is good & I will fold him in half in less than a round. Actions speak LOUDER”.

“Undisputed champion = WBC+WBO+WBA+IBF I accept nothing less than complete submission of my adversaries. Polytheism will not be tolerated”.

"If defeating me was a possibility I would have died long ago. Send them your lions I declaw, Your serpents I defang, your Greats I belittle".
