Al Haymon can help him with his RN deal. Remember, Haymon is an advisor.
So is James Prince.

But why in the hell would Haymon work to get Ward a deal with Roc Nation? Haymon wants nothing to do with Roc Nation and him and Jay Z have beef. If Haymon "advised" Quillin to turn down & 1.9m and his belt against Korobov he sure as hell isn't going to try and get Ward a deal with Roc Nation.

It's up to Ward if he wants to sign with RN or not, if they are in fact interested (I don't see why they wouldn't be)

I didn't know he and Jay z had issues. Anyway, while I dont agree with the Quillin move, Haymon can still do a better job with Ward.

Jay Z and Beyonce sued Al Haymon for some shady business when he promoted one of her tours a few years back.

To be honest the only person fucking up Ward's career is Andre Ward. Goossen Tutor has done everything they can - Got into the super six, fought Froch, Kessler, etc. Got Dawson.

After his injury he got over $2 million dollars for essentially a glorified tune up against Rodriguez.

Prior, when Lucien Bute was uundefeated and everyone wanted to see Ward vs Bute which would have been big money especially if he fought him in Canada, Ward turned it down saying since Bute didn't fight in the Super Six he didn't deserve a fight, of course Bute then fights Froch, gets his ass whooped and now his stock plummeted.

Chavez Jr and unbelievably Bob Arum were wanting a Ward fight, but nothing materialized because Ward decided to sue his promoter so Chavez went elsewhere.

Ward keeps demanding a Froch rematch, but only in America, which doesn't make financial sense to Froch since he can fight in the UK in front of 80,000 fans on UK PPV, plus he already lost to Ward and admitted Ward is the better fighter. Instead of Ward making that money, he was unwilling to travel. He's also unwilling to move up in weight to 175 where Kovalev, Pascal and others offered him fights, which is fine if he wants to stay at 168 but he can't get mad when 160 and 154 pound guys aren't willing to go up to fight him. So his own stubbornness has got him in this mess. He's had plenty of opportunities, but he's turned them all down and or was too busy in court (three failed lawsuits) and if he rejects Roc Nation, that's another opportunity down the drain.

Hes also hinted at retirement so who knows where this guy'shead is at. HHe's basically become Winky Wright. Extremely talented but has an incredibly inflated view of how much he's worth. He keeps saying he deserves big PPV fights but at 168 there really aren't any PPV worthy fights (unless he were to fight Froch in the UK and get that British money).

The worst thing you can do as a boxer is be in active, especially when you're a defensive fighter who isn't the most crowd pleasing guy out there and doesn't have a huge fan base, and that's exactly what he's doing. While everyone else is out there making money he's sitting on the sidelines or sitting in court. Eventually people will stop caring. He just needs to get in the ring and fight someone, anyone, to stay relevant.

Andre Ward is arguably the best fighter out there. He's going to mess around and finally come back in a tougher/bigger fight than he should take for his first fight back and lose in his fight with his contract with Roc and his stock is going to take a major hit. This dude should have been this generations Sugar Ray Leonard. I was thinking about that today. He's a clean cut, respectful dude. American gold medalist, with great skill etc... But he's on the wrong side of 30 now, been inactive for a year, lookin like a major a-hole suing a promoter that got him more than everything you could ask for at 168 and got him damn near every single fight at home in the Super Six etc...

J Prince ain't nothing to mess with though, so who knows what kinda hand he has. I know he's had a stake in some other fighters before but this situation really makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes. Ward seems like a good dude but Prince is kind of a guy that you do what he says or you don't wanna find out what happens. Ask Mayweather about that.

Golovkin-Murray a Done Deal For February 21

Monaco -- The deal has been signed – unbeaten WBA, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (31-0, 28 KOs) of Kazakhstan will fight top-rated Martin Murray (28-1-1, 12 KOs) of the UK in Monte Carlo on February 21.

Golden Gloves and K2 Promotions announced the bout minutes after Murray’s successful WBC Silver belt defence against Domenico Spada in Monaco on Saturday.

Golovkin will go in search of his record 19th straight stoppage while Murray will be hoping it is third time lucky after two previous title bids were rebuffed by the judges.

“Murray is generally regarded as the best middleweight outside the world champions,” said promoter Rodney Berman. “As we all know, he’s a world champion without a belt. He won’t be intimidated for one second fighting ‘GGG’, unlike all of Golovkin’s challengers.”

Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions agreed. “Arguably, Martin Murray will be the toughest opponent Gennady has ever faced. It’s a great way to follow up the Marco Antonio Rubio win: coming back to Europe and Monte Carlo against a top-rated middleweight contender.

“It fits in perfectly as Murray has shown he is world class and Gennady wants to continue to prove himself the most exciting fighter out there. Gennady is making big inroads in the US, but it’s also important for the fight to be in primetime in Europe where he has so many fans.”

Murray has won four fights since dropping a narrow decision to then-WBC champion Sergio Martinez in 2013, the last two of which were in Monte Carlo.

Golovkin has won 13 straight world championship fights – all by stoppage – on his way to confirming his status as the world’s most exciting boxer.

He has also fought twice before in Monte Carlo, beating Nobuhiro Ishida in 2013 and Osumanu Adama in February.

He was ringside in Monte Carlo on Saturday and said: “It feels great to get this fight. Murray is a great fighter, very strong. I remember the Sergio Martinez bout; it was an amazing fight. Along with Matthew Macklin and Daniel Geale, Murray is one of the best pure boxers in the division.

“I like to test myself. I’m giving him a chance and for Europe this is the biggest fight in the middleweight division. It is important to fight here, where many of my fans and followers are

Said Murray: “I think he’s a top fighter. He’s crushed everybody he’s been in with, but I’ve got the tools to beat any middleweight out there. I wouldn’t be taking the fight if I didn’t think I could win. A lot of his opponents have gone into the fight already beat. You won’t get that with me. I’m gonna go in there and stand up to him.”

Berman rates Golovkin highly, but believes that Murray has a chance of an upset.

“I have the highest regard for Golovkin, but the truth is his opponents have been sitting ducks. Out of fear, they lose the fight before they step into the ring; they’re intimidated and scared. You look at Murray’s background and just know he won’t be cowered. He’s the first guy I’ve seen who will create angles, who won’t stand in front of Golovkin waiting to be hit. Murray will make Golovkin work. He has the ability to outhustle him,” said the man who has famously promoted a number of major upsets over the years.

These include Hasim Rahman’s KO of heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis, Corrie Sanders’ blowout of Wladimir Klitschko and Vuyani Bungu’s shock win over unbeaten Kennedy McKinney.

“It doesn’t get better than coming back to Monte Carlo,” added Loeffler. “The atmosphere is electric and Gennady enjoys it. He makes every fight an exciting fight because of his style. Every opponent has a plan . . . until they feel Gennady’s first punch.”

^^^Oh boy here we go again. Anotha scrub bites the dust lol. Didnt even try to secure a bigger better fight lol. Got Em!!
Wow you're retarded. Golovkin is mandatory to Cotto's title, who elected to take a voulantary fight first which the WBC granted (obviously that's supposed to be against Canelo). Rather than sit around doing nothing until September of next year (which is the soonest that fight could take place since Canelo vs Cotto is targeted for May) GGG is going to fight one of the highest ranked middleweights available in February. GGG vs Murray has been discussed for over a year now and Murray is finally accepting the deal.

GGG is clearing out the Middleweight division, much like Bernard Hopkins did years ago before Hopkins finally got his big opportunity against Trinidad.

Oh so Canelo/Cotto is signed? I didnt know that. I guess its ok than. Got Em!!
Not signed yet but that's obviously the plan and also Cotto elected to fight a voulantary first instead of his mandatory. Cotto vs Canelo is one of the biggest fights in boxing right now so I'm cool with that, tons of money to be made for them.

Im actually starting to question whether or not the Cotto Canelo fight is going to happen. I mean, this fight is so anticipated that no one even knows who Floyd is fighting next. That is a big deal cuz I don't think Cotto would want to fight on Cinco de Mayo in New York. Plus, I still feel that Floyd might want that Cotto rematch and would go to New York and Cotto would agree to that. I want to know what's Cotto's deal with Top Rank and HBO.

Yea I was actually being sarcastic with my last repy to 206 about Canelo/Cotto. I have a funny feeling it wont happen also. Even if it does its not signed yet. GGG called out Cotto after his last fight yet he didnt try to get the fight. He quickly signed to fight Murray. Why wouldnt he atleast see if he can get the Cotto fight before he signs with Murray is all I ask? You dont call out the person u want next and than within a week sign to fight a different dude when the person u called out hasnt signed to fight anyone yet. Just strange to me. Got Em!!

You don't think they've been in contact? Of course they have and that's why Team Cotto said they are going to fight a voulantary (meaning not his mandatory in GGG). Trust me, GGG would fight Cotto in a heartbeat if given the chance. Team Cotto, Freddie Roach, they all say no GGG next. Cotto and Canelo have been in talks the qquestion is where and the weight.

Even if Cotto and Canelo falls apart for some reason, GGG will have already fought Murray by the time Cotto is ready to fight. Cotto took the rest of 2014 for vacation, the earliest he's going to fight is April / May.

This is from two days ago. Roach says Canelo next and GGG not yet. Bob Arum confirms negotiations between Cotto and Canelo.

"Canelo Alvarez is obviously our No. 1 choice, and then I would love to go fight 'Triple G' after we win that fight," Roach said.

"I would like one fight before that [facing Golovkin.] Obviously we do have a 160-pound title we have to defend and I think he's the perfect opponent for us. Maybe the two best fighters in the world," Roach said.

Top Rank Promotions boss Bob Arum also confirmed to Bad Left Hook*that negotiation about the Cotto-Alvarez fight is underway, while also adding that the winner will face Golovkin.

"Yeah, that's what we're trying to do. Have Cotto and Canelo fight, and Gennady is right there, probably could fight the winner," Arum said.

I really don't think that's going to happen. Cotto has some kind of Co promoter deal with Top Rank. Bob Arum talking about if Cotto beats Canelo then he wants to make Cotto vs Bradley at 160. This is why Canelo must win. The MW lineal crown would be a joke if it's Bradley vs Cotto. This was my worst fear when Martinez lost to Cotto. Bunch of welterweights fighting eachother at catch weights for the middleweight title
