It does look a little better on the ps4, but the gameplay looks exactly the same IMO so it's not like it's this huge groundbreaking game on the ps4
I read over 200 animations have been added. On the ps3 there is about a 150,000 polygon count, on the ps4 over 1 million. On the ps3 version, the crowd consisted of 42 characters duplicated, on the ps4 over 1,000 unique characters. So I'm sure the gameplay and mechanics are mostly all the same, but it appears they did a good job revamping the graphics and overall power of the game.

I haven't played a baseball game in so many years. Is this game fun for non baseball fans? I literally can name five baseball players on one hand
One of the best things about the game to me is that it is so customizable. You can basically play a slugfest of a game if you want, or it can be damn near as real as you want.

I was only a marginal baseball fan until 2k4 came out and I started to like it more. When 2k5 dropped, that game actually made me a baseball fan because of how good the game was. This game is better than that in a lot of ways, but I've never felt like the show made me like baseball as much as 2k5 did for some reason. It's a great sim, but I personally feel like non-baseball fans would like it enough to finish a season. The Road to the Show mode is tight though for people who are new to baseball, especially if you choose to be a pitcher imo. Learning more about pitching makes real life baseball a hell of a lot more enjoyable to watch.

Here's a review from IGN:

RBI Baseball 14 Review - IGN

THE VERDICT

RBI Baseball 14 has very few redeeming qualities. Local multiplayer can be fun, but the frustrating defense, lack of depth, and poor presentation didn’t keep me interested for long. Without any stat tracking season mode is too dull to play, despite the team specific challenges. It’s mind boggling for a game intended for a wide audience to hide essential information.

Damn. But we didn't have a lot of the perks he is looking for in our older baseball games. But it does sound like shit.
