These injuries are insane I was half drunk yelling at the tv what the fuck is going on and to fire our conditioning coach lol. But in all seriousness holy shit man its not even halfway through and it feels like we're playing at 50% across the board.

I loved todays defensive showing to hold newton to no touchdowns was amazing and bennett even almost got a safety on him... I didn't like how the announcers showed that replay of it after newton made that super long pass basically blaming bennett. Michael bennett could've went lower but newton still would've escaped anyway. Shit he probably only nearly got the safety because of how he tried to bring newton down in the first place, its no joke trying to bring down newton

Well, image has been a part of music ever since music has been sold commercially. You go back and look at the 40's-60's and see how black artists had white people on the album covers. The stigma that street cred will make or break you comes from where? That's a marketing tool concocted by some guy in a suit. Now I understand that in certain environments you have to push the line, maybe even go overboard or extreme to get your point across so no one will fuck with you but that is the environment. But back to the music, it's all about image in all types of music. You think Taylor Swift doesn't have an image to maintain for her largely white audience? You don't think Imagine Dragons has an image to keep up? It's all about image bro.

Tell your friend it's only two things to worry about when it comes to marketing.

1. Do women want to be with you?

2. Do men want to be you?

Nothing else matters.
I guess my point is this: if you are a rapper, and you give off an image of a gangsta, and you get exposed as being fake...its all bad. And the worst part is, there are SO MANY fakin the funk. And when you fake the funk, you lose fans. You can even get black balled (to an extent...i doubt Lil Wayne is suffering, but someone like Messy Marv might be). Think of it this way....you think anyone REALLY cared when they found out Ricky Martin? His music sings of loving women, sex, etc. That technically makes him a liar in that sense. Now, take a rapper taling about drug dealing, murdering, throwin up sets, etc. Come to find out, he hasnt done any of it. Which will lose more fans (percentage wise)? I can tell you this, I have a hard time listening to rap music i KNOW for a fact is bullshit. At least keep me guessing. Rap fans want realism. Rap is more or less a reality TV series if i had to relate it to anything.

Music is art, but hip-hop might be the biggest "art imitating life" cliche that exists in music hands down.

I see your point and i agree with it as a whole, but rap is a very interesting monster in and of itself in terms of art/music. Thats probably one of the reasons is such a popular genre across the airwaves.

HERESY @HERESY , what's your opinion on this:

Did you see the Mike Freeman story about Russell Wilson?

Charles Barkley:

I heard that. I heard about it.

Anthony Gargano:

And, for those people listening, Mike Freeman wrote a piece about Russell Wilson where he quoted unnamed players saying, he wasn’t black enough. That he was too—too much of a company guy and that sort of thing.

Now Mike disagreed with the statement. But some of the players said that. Is that the same case where—why would you hate Russell Wilson?

Charles Barkley:

As I tell my white friends, we as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because of other black people. When you’re black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people. It’s a—It’s a dirty, dark secret; I’m glad it’s coming out. It comes out every few years. I wrote a big chapter in my book about it, to be honest with you.

I said, you know, when young black kids, you know, when they do well in school, the loser kids tell them, ‘Oh, you’re acting white.’ The kids who speak intelligently—

Anthony Gargano:

Right.

Charles Barkley:

They tell them, ‘You’re acting white.’ So it’s a dirty, dark secret in the black community.

One of the reasons we’re never going to be successful as a whole, because of other black people. And for some reason we are brainwashed to think, if you’re not a thug or an idiot, you’re not black enough. If you go to school, make good grades, speak intelligent, and don’t break the law, you’re not a good black person. And it’s a dirty, dark secret, Anthony.

Most, I—I heard Stephen A. [Smith] talkin about it, and it, listen, I hate to bring white people into our crap, but as a black person, we all go through it when you’re successful. Uh, you know it’s like one of the reasons, you know, one of the reasons a lot of black players go broke is because when you’re successful your friends say to you, ‘Oh, you ain’t cool. You ain’t down with us anymore.’

Anthony Gargano:

Yeah

Charles Barkley:

And you end up giving up all your money to these damn losers, and you end up broke again.

Anthony Gargano:

Yeah.

Charles Barkley:

But it’s a dirty, dark secret in the black community. There are a lot of black people who are unintelligent, who don’t have, uh, success. It’s best to knock a successful black person down because they’re intelligent, they speak well, they do well in school, and they’re successful. And they don’t..if you think about it—

Anthony Gargano: Well it’s crabs in a barrel, right?

Charles Barkley: It’s crabs in a barrel. The thing that’s hap—we’re the only race that tell people if you don’t have street cred, with like, that means you been arrested—

Anthony Gargano: Right right right.

Charles Barkley: Like, like that’s a compliment. We’re the only ethnic group who say, ‘Hey, if you go to jail, it gives you street cred.’ It’s just typical BS that goes on when you’re black, man.

But don’t waste a lot of time on it please. Cuz it’s just so—Russell Wilson has a—you know it’s—I don’t know Russell Wilson. I met him and said hello, but just because he studies the playbook all the time, he doesn’t go out clubbin and things like that, I guess some of the other players, you see what happen to Percy Harvin, I guess they didn’t like the way he—they want him to do crazy stuff. He didn’t want to do it.

Raiders will be 0-16 this year Gus, not a chance in hell of beating Seatown today.

Ant to any "Hawk fan" who claims the Raiders have a shot, do us all a favor and kill yaself.
No one thought last year, the 0-8 Tampa Bay fucking Buccs would come to Seattle and whoop on the Hawks and be up 21-0 at half time. Seattle of course had to have an epic come back and won in OT. just saying any team is capable of beating anyone in the NFL, just takes a few circumstances to go their way.

so yeah at 4-3 I'm going to be nervous about every game.
