Rapper-producer Big Hutch has filed a lawsuit against Eve and Dr. Dre
Rapper-producer Big Hutch has filed a lawsuit against Eve and Dr. Dre as well as Interscope Records and Ruff Ryders Entertainmentclaiming that the 1999 single ‘Love is Blind’ was stolen from him. The track had some chart success following its release on ‘Let There Be Eve… Ruff Ryder’s First Lady.’
Hutch indicated that his suit isn’t a slight against Eve and he’s just looking to get the credit he feels he is due. “I’m not trying to take away from what Eve has done, but I was a key in helping Eve create a hit record,” said Hutch’s statement according to HipHopDX.
Hutch previously tried to deal directly with Aftermath in an attempt to acquire royalties for his work on the track, but execs simply dismissed his claims when he couldn’t provide proof that he’d produced the song.
Hutch’s numerous run-ins with the law since the song was released kept him from locating his proof, but after searching through his tapes, which he’s kept in storage, the producer now says that he has the masters for the song.
