Bad Boy Records Won’t Pick Up LOX’s New Album

Jadakiss recently revealed that the much anticipated The LOX reunion album won’t release through Bad Boy Records when it comes out. The trio, which consists of Jadakiss, Styles P and Sheek Louch, still doesn’t have a deal for the The LOX record, and their separate solo deals might make finding a home for the project difficult.

Jadakiss explained that even though they couldn’t manage to work out a deal with Bad Boy Records, his relationship with Diddy was still intact. “Nah, we went over there, we gave him a shot at it. Diddy wanted to do it, but I don’t think contractually with all of the forces, we weren’t able to do it, but he’s still the big homie,” Jadakiss told Sway Calloway on Sway in the Morning.

Jada also offered his opinion of the Tupac hologram which hit the stage during Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s Coachella performance and added that he would get behind a holographic recreation of the Notorious B.I.G. if Diddy could pull together the resources. “It cost a lot, so I think Diddy with his connection to Interscope and Jimmy, I still think he got the resources to do a Big joint whenever he goes out to do a big tour; that’ll be cool. I think it was good for the ‘Pac lovers and for these young cats that ain’t really get the chance to see him or understand him. But I think if they gonna do it, we should try to do Big L, Pun — let’s do all of the fallen soldiers of hip-hop and let the people get a chance to see ‘em at one of these big venues,” said Jadakiss.

As early as last summer, Styles P indicated that it wouldn’t be easy to work out a deal for a LOX project but added that the group was close to finding a label. “It’s a lot of heads involved with the new LOX album. You got Ruff Ryders, you got Bad Boy, you got Interscope. It’s a lot of politics in one set of paperwork, but it’s gettin’ close,” Styles P said in August 2011.
